The method further comprises unmounting, from the outside of the grinding mill, the mounting flange of the grate support element from the shell of the grinding mill, and lifting the unmounted worn rotable segment from the grinding mill.

The method may include providing a system including a roller mill apparatus and a hammermill apparatus, operating the roller mill apparatus and the hammermill apparatus, adjusting a feed rate of particulate material to the roller mill apparatus until power consumption by operation of the roller mill apparatus achieves a target power consumption for the roller mill apparatus, and adjusting a gap between mill rolls of the roller mill apparatus until power consumption by operation of the hammermill apparatus achieves a target power consumption for the hammermill apparatus. The system may include roller and hammermill apparatus with sensing and controlling apparatus configured to operate the roller and hammermill apparatus according to the methods disclosed.

A method of treating and grading contaminated particulate material includes i. physically breaking up the particulate material to separate the particles thereof; ii. rinsing and grading the particulate material to separate the particulate material into an oversize fraction and an undersize fraction; iii. washing and grading the oversize fraction to produce one or more treated aggregate products; iv. passing the undersize fraction through a high shear washing process to separate contaminants therefrom; v. fluidising and cleaning the undersize fraction in a classification tank to produce one or more treated sand products at an underflow thereof by passing clean water upwardly into the classification tank. Optionally, waste water resulting from stages (ii), (iii) and (iv) is treated to form process water, a portion of which is used in stage (ii), a portion of the process water undergoing one or more further treatment processes to produce clean water used in stage (v).

A secondary shredder can include a rotor assembly that employs a modular rotor design. Each rotor of the rotor assembly can include a number of blades that are symmetrical around a horizontal and a vertical axis. Each rotor can include a number of radial extensions forming gaps into which the blades insert. The blades can be secured within the gaps by wedges that apply an inward force against the blades when the wedges are secured into the gaps. The radial extensions and blades can include keyways into which keys insert to prevent the blades from escaping the gaps. The secondary shredder may also include a stationary knife assembly that includes multiple stationary knives that are positioned on the same side of the rotor assembly.

Shredder for comminuting bulk material

A shredder includes a shredder box having first and second opposite end walls, and first and second opposite side walls that extend between the first and second end walls. The shredder further includes a shredder rotor positioned within an interior of the shredder box, an access door that is pivotally moveable, and a control system for monitoring various parameters to operate the shredder. A side access region is defined between the first and second end walls when the access door is in the open position. The side access region provides access to the shredder rotor and includes an open region defined between the first and second end walls at the second side of the shredder. The open region has an open top which is free of obstructions extending between the first and second end walls.

Comminuting apparatus

A device for comminuting media materials that store sensitive information. The device is a rotating mill core with removable flat edged blades, a set of stacked bed knives and a screen. The mill core rotates in close proximity to adjustable bed knives to shear the material being fed before passing through a screen in order to grate the material. The mill core has an angular positioned blade constructed and arranged to shear material with said bed knives. The mill core has a mass and is operated at 1000 rpm. A flywheel is further attached to the mill core in order to conserve rotational energy and improve the efficiency of the device. Vacuum ports facilitate cleanup.
