Solid Bowl Centrifuge
20180001329 · 2018-01-04 ·

The invention relates to a solid bowl centrifuge with a horizontal elongated, hollow, rotatable, solid-wall bowl (2) with an inlet and an outlet and a rotatable screw conveyor with a shaft (6) and helical screw (7) rotatable mounted inside said bowl and extending substantially the full length thereof. It is mainly characterized in that on the shaft there are mounted a number of truncated conical discs (24), whereby the discs are directly surrounded by the helical screw. With such design the decanter capacity can be increased and the polymer consumption reduced. Further power consumption can be reduced by obtaining the same performances as the traditional decanter at lower rotational speed (lower g-force).

The invention relates to an outlet device (10) of a solid-bowl screw centrifuge for separating a multi-phase material, which outlet device is arranged on an end wall (12) of a centrifuge drum, which rotates about a longitudinal axis, at an outlet opening (20) formed in the end wall, which outlet device comprises a diverting channel (22) for diverting a liquid phase of the material which passes through the outlet opening (20), wherein the diversion relative to the longitudinal axis amounts to an angle (32) between 50° and 90° with respect to the circumferential direction, and which outlet device has an aligned rectilinear weir edge (30) for limiting the emergence of the liquid phase, wherein the angle of the alignment of the weir edge (30) relative to the end wall (12) as viewed from the outlet opening (20) amounts to between 0° relative to the end wall and minus 6° toward the end wall.

SCREW CENTRIFUGE FOR WET MECHANICAL SEPARATION OF SOLIDS

A screw centrifuge has a rotating, cylindrical drum (11) with openings (14,15) for discharge of settleable solids (16), floating solids (17), and separating liquid (18). A rotatable shaft (12) has openings (22) for infeed of the solids to be separated, and two sections of screw flights (13,13′,13″,23,23′) working in opposite directions. A baffle disc (20) is arranged on the shaft between the infeed opening (22) and the discharge opening (14) for the settleable solids (16). The flight (13′,13″) of the screw for the settleable solids (16) surrounds the flight (23,23′) of the screw for the floating solids (17), and also work in opposite directions. The screw section for the floating solids (17) is designed as a multi-channel screw. The outer flight (13′,13″) of the screw for the settleable solids (16) can also have several channels.

Rotary vessel with a spigot having axially projecting fingers

A rotary vessel for a filter assembly has a rotor body rotatable about an axis of rotation and a spigot, integral or coupled with the rotor body, extending away from the rotary body along the axis of rotation. The spigot has an abutment surface against which, in use, a cooperating surface of the filter assembly abuts to inhibit movement of the rotary vessel relative to the cooperating surface and parallel to the axis of rotation. The filter assembly has a housing with main body and closure member separably attachable to the main body. The closure member retains the rotary vessel inside the housing and is separable from the main body to permit removal of the rotary vessel from the housing. A connector releasably couples the closure member to the rotary vessel such that the rotary vessel is removable from the housing by separating closure member and main body.

A solid bowl screw centrifuge includes a housing and a rotor rotatably mounted in the housing. The centrifuge has a rotatable drum having an axis of rotation, the drum having a cylindrical section having a length L.sub.1 and a conical section having a length L.sub.2. The centrifuge also has a first inlet for feeding a suspension to be processed into the drum and a liquid outlet arranged in the cylindrical section of the drum and a solids outlet arranged in the conical section of the drum. A screw is arranged in the drum and rotatable at a differential speed relative to the rotatable drum, the drum and the screw together forming the rotor. The centrifuge also a second inlet for supplying an additive to a solid phase within the drum.

Rotary vessel with a spigot having a non-circular outer circumferential cross-section forming an axial movement limiting engagement with a housing closure member

A rotary vessel for a filter assembly has a rotor body rotatable about an axis of rotation and a spigot with a non-circular cross-section and integral with or coupled to the rotor body. The spigot extends away from the rotor body along the axis of rotation and engages with a bearing. The spigot facilitates transfer of rotary motion between the rotor body and the bearing. A filter assembly has a housing with a main body and a closure member separably attachable to the main body. The rotary vessel is disposed inside the housing. The closure member retains the rotary vessel inside the housing and is separable from the main body to permit removal of the rotary vessel from the housing. The spigot integral with or coupled to the rotor vessel engages with a bearing of the filter assembly to rotatably support the rotary vessel in the housing.
