Dispensing pump with locking structures and methods of using the same

A dispensing pump includes a spring assembly and a locking arrangement to prevent the dispensing head from being deployed and/or actuated during shipment, stocking and pre-purchase handling. The dispensing pump includes a pump base, and a dispensing head having a piston stem. The spring assembly includes a slotted tubular spring element and first and second loading cones received at opposing ends of the slotted tubular spring element. Various locking arrangements may include interacting rotatable lugs provided between the dispensing head and the pump base, snap beads to retain the piston and dispensing head in a secured shipping position, and recyclable locking rings disposed between the dispensing head and pump base which prevent an active dispensing head from being actuated.

Disclosed is the invention of a pump dispenser wherein a deformation prevention locking part induces a chaplet to move in the axial direction in a housing at the time of rotation of a head part, thereby allowing or restricting an operation of pressing a head part while preventing the deforming of an elastic member. The disclosed pump dispenser comprises: a cap part fastened to a container; a housing which is provided at the cap part and in which a content stored in the container remains in a dischargeable state; a shaft received in the housing so as to be movable in the axial direction, the shaft including a head part for discharging the content remaining in the housing to the outside through a pressing operation by an external force; a chaplet provided in the housing such that the shaft is inserted so as to be able to extend therethrough, the chaplet allowing or blocking the movement of the shaft on the basis of the angle of rotation of the head part; an elastic member provided on the circumference surface of the shaft and elastically supporting the chaplet and the head part; and a deformation prevention locking part for inducing the chaplet to move in the axial direction in the housing at the time of rotation of the head part, thereby allowing or restricting an operation of pressing the head part while preventing the deformation of the elastic member.

An outer side of an upper end of the lock cover (9) is provided with a cover flanging (91) which is turned outwards and then turned downwards to stretch. An upper end of the pump chamber (5) is inserted and fixed onto an inner side of the cover flanging (91). The lock cover (9) is provided with a locking opening (92) protruding upwards above the cover flanging (91). An outer side of the locking opening (92) is provided with an outer thread (93). An upper end of the primary column (2) is provided with a locking flanging (21) which is turned outwards and then turned downwards to stretch in order to be sleeved on the outer side of the locking opening (92). An inner side of the locking flanging (21) is provided with an inner thread (22) in threaded fit with the outer thread (93), such that a pump core composed of the primary column (2), the secondary column (3), the piston (4), the pump chamber (5), the spring (6), a glass bead (7) and the lock cover (9) can be stored and transported independently, thereby matching different pressing heads (1) and bottle locking covers (8) according to requirements, such that the use thereof is flexible.
