A changing device for coating media having a plurality of supply units each having at least one inlet connection, which can be connected to a reservoir for the medium, and an outlet connection, between which a flow channel extends. At least one coupling unit is present which has an input connection and an output connection, which can be connected to an application device, between which input connection and which output connection a through-channel (44) extends. The coupling unit is moveable relative to the supply units by a positioning device. The input connection can be coupled fluid-tight to the outlet connection of a supply unit. A valve device is present, in which each supply unit includes a valve unit which releases the flow channel in a released configuration and closes in a closed configuration and is controllable by a control signal in the released configuration. The valve device includes a control system, which has a switch device for each supply unit which allows the control signal through to the valve unit in a switched configuration and blocks the control signal to the valve unit in a blocked configuration, and has a trigger device which triggers at least one switching of the switch device from the blocked configuration into the switched configuration when the input connection of the coupling unit is to be coupled or is coupled fluid-tight to the outlet connection of a supply unit.

An electrostatic spray system (10) includes a supply module (14) configured to store a supply of charged liquid for spraying by an electrostatic sprayer (26). A feed module (12) is connected to the supply module to fill the supply tank (44) of the supply module as needed during spraying to provide a continuous supply of liquid for the electrostatic sprayer. The feed module is controlled such that the feed module is electrically isolated from a main reservoir (18) connected to earth ground potential when the feed module is providing liquid to the supply module, and the feed module is electrically isolated from the supply module when the feed module is receiving liquid from the main reservoir. The feed module transfers the liquid from the main reservoir to the supply module without electrically connecting the supply module to the main reservoir (18).

The insulation device comprises a channel with a physical body which can move in the channel. The physical body has an electrically insulating material and can be moved by means of a fluid pressure between a park position and an insulation position and is designed such that, when it moves from the park position to the insulation position or from the insulation position to the park position, the physical body removes material from an inner casing surface of the channel, so that an electrical insulation path can be formed between the storage container and the input valve device.

The device includes an electric valve device with each supply unit having an electric valve unit which opens and closes a flow channel through which a medium may be supplied in response to a control signal. The valve device includes a control system which has a switching device for each supply unit, each switching device selectively allowing or blocking a control signal from reaching a respective valve unit. The valve device also includes a triggering device which is carried by at least one coupling unit which couples the plurality of supply units to an application device. The triggering device triggers the switching device to allow the control signal through to a supply unit when the coupling unit is connected to the supply unit in a fluid-tight manner.
