Aqueous Polycarboxylic Acid Containing Coating Composition with Improved Leveling Properties
Disclosed herein is an aqueous coating composition including an anionically stabilized binder,a color pigment, a polycarboxylic acid, and optionally a solvent. Further disclosed is a method for producing an inventive aqueous coating composition by adding a solution of polycarboxylic acid in a solvent to a coating composition including an anionically stabilized binder and color pigment.Additionally disclosed is a method for producing a multicoat paint system by producing a basecoat layer or at least two directly consecutive basecoat layers directly on a substrate optionally coated with a first coating layer, producing a clearcoat layer directly on the basecoat layer or the topmost basecoat layer, and jointly curing the basecoat layer(s) and the clearcoat layer. At least one of the basecoat materials includes the aqueous coating composition disclosed herein and/or an aqueous coating prepared by the disclosed method. A multicoat paint system obtainable by the method is additionally disclosed.
Method of applying electron beam curable aqueous coating material
Provided is a method of applying an electron beam curable aqueous coating material, including coating a surface of a material to be coated with the electron beam curable aqueous coating material to form a wet coating film; drying the wet coating film until a time integration value of a reciprocal of an average value of viscosities of a region from a surface of the wet coating film to a depth of one half a film thickness of the wet coating film is in a range of 0.30 (Pa.Math.s).sup.−1.Math.min to 0.90 (Pa.Math.s).sup.−1.Math.min, which is acquired by an electric field pick-up method, and a solid content concentration of the wet coating film is 90% by mass or greater; and curing the obtained dry coating film by irradiation with an electron beam after the wet coating film is dried.

PAINTING METHOD AND PAINTING APPARATUS FOR INSULATOR
A painting target surface of a resin bumper is painted by discharging a paint mist from a spray gun toward the painting target surface with a charged conductor arranged in contact with an opposite side to the painting target surface. The paint mist is uncharged or is charged with electric charges having an opposite polarity to that of the conductor and at a potential having a lower absolute value than that of the conductor.
Method for forming multilayer coating film
Provided is a method for forming a multilayer coating film.
METHOD FOR FORMING COATING FILM ON CONSTANT VELOCITY UNIVERSAL JOINT
coating film having excellent adhesion, even without the presence of a chemical conversion film treatment out as an undercoat and a metal automotive part having the coating film.
A powder is deposited by powder-coating onto the surface of a metal automotive part that has been quenched after simultaneously forging, and tempering the metal automotive part and bake-hardening the deposited powder to form a skin film on the surface of the metal automotive part. The surface of the metal automotive part before the powder is powder-coated thereon is a work-hardened material surface that has been not been subjected to a chemical conversion filming treatment.

Method for laser-assisted manufacturing
A laser-assisted microfluidics manufacturing process has been developed for the fabrication of additively manufactured structures. Roll-to-roll manufacturing is enhanced by the use of a laser-assisted electrospray printhead positioned above the flexible substrate. The laser electrospray printhead sprays microdroplets containing nanoparticles onto the substrate to form both thin-film and structural layers. As the substrate moves, the nanoparticles are sintered using a laser beam directed by the laser electrospray printhead onto the substrate.

Method for cleaning paint spray gun
A method for cleaning a paint spray gun, which comprises a rotating atomization head to apply a coating material while rotating and an outer circumferential tube to cover the exterior of the rotating atomization head, has a cleaning solution application step for applying a cleaning solution to the external face of the outer circumferential tube, and a rotating atomization head rotation step for generating a rotational flow between the rotating atomization head and the outer circumferential tube by rotating the rotating atomization head. The cleaning solution flowing down the external face of the outer circumferential tube applied in the cleaning solution application step penetrates between the rotating atomization head and the outer circumferential tube by way of the rotational flow. Such method uses a small amount of cleaning solution for cleaning external and internal faces of the outer circumferential tube and the external face of a rotating atomization head.
