In a method for the high-speed coating of the inner surface of a blank (1), preferably a can, the blank (1) rotates about it axis of rotation and a coating is applied to an inner surface of the blank (1). A LED light module (12) installed between the ink station and varnish station emits a light within a predetermined frequency range onto inked containers. The temperature produced by the LED light source is cooler than that of Uv light sources that could be used for the same purpose. The exterior surface of finished containers exhibit no lapping or discolorations and have improved scratch resistance.
