11549339 · 2023-01-10 · ·

The present invention is directed to a method of cleaning and inspection of drilling mud carrying flow lines, each flow line having an inner surface. The method includes affixing a fitting to the flow line, the fitting having a main flow channel and a branch flow channel extending at an angle from said main flow channel. A first end portion of the fitting can have an attachment that enables connection of the fitting to the flow line at one flow line end portion. A second end portion of the fitting can have one or more doors that can be moved between opened and closed positions, the door or doors providing an opening that is not closed when the doors are in the closed position. A suction line can be connected to the branch flow channel. A cleaning tool can be guided first into the fitting and then into the flow line using a fluid carrying cable. The cleaning tool and jetting fluid can be used to clean drilling mud and debris from the inner surface of the flow line. The jetting fluid can be removed via the branch flow channel using the suction line. The cable can extend through the door opening or openings when the door or doors are in the closed position. A camera can be guided into the flow line using a camera cable wherein the camera cable extends through the door opening or openings. The cleaning tool is preferably too small to fit through the door opening.

A high pressure jetting system for use with a water supply system includes a recirculating unit to connect to an isolated section of the water supply system. The isolated section remains under water supply system pressure. The recirculating unit includes a filter unit and a pump unit capable of generating a circulating flow of water. A first pig launch and recovery apparatus couples a first hydrant to the recirculating unit and a second pig launch and recovery apparatus couples a second hydrant to the recirculating unit. A jetting unit including a jetting head is coupled to a jetting hose. The jetting unit enters the closed circuit through the second pig launch and recovery apparatus and travels within the isolated section. The jetting head emits a plurality of water jets to assist removal of material from an inner surface of the water mains and pipes.

The recirculating unit includes a filter unit and a pump unit generating a circulating flow of water. A first pig launch and recovery apparatus couples a first hydrant to the recirculating unit and a second pig launch and recovery apparatus couples a second hydrant to the recirculating unit. A camera unit including a camera and drogue chute enters through the first apparatus and travels in a flushing flow direction to the second apparatus. The drogue chute is then removed from the camera. The camera then couples to a jetting unit having a jetting head and hose and re-enters through the second apparatus. The jetting unit emits a plurality of water jets to move in a counter-current flow direction and remove material from the water mains.

SYSTEM FOR UNBLOCKING OR CLEANING DUCTS BY MEANS OF A CONTROLLED LOCAL REACTION

The present invention proposes the use of a tool (13) that is connected to a device for locomotion, such as, for example, a robot, and provided with an umbilical cable (06) to bring about a controlled reaction near the blockage, in order to remove it. In order to carry out that controlled reaction, an injection, and control system is used, which may be a closed loop control system.

Operational convenience is to be improved in an inspection nozzle or cleaning nozzle for operation with liquids under high pressure with a coupling section that can be connected to a high-pressure tube. A feed bore, a deflection chamber and at least one communicating bore are operatively connected to the coupling section. A camera recess running concentric to a longitudinal axis is arranged in a camera-receiving portion. A camera module is accommodated releasably connected to an encapsulated camera housing sealed water-tight. Optics and camera electronics are permanently incorporated in camera housing. Case manipulation of the camera module and the camera housing is unnecessary. This is realized in that within the camera housing, a contactless magnetically operable camera switch is arranged effectively connected to the camera electronics via a circuit board on one wall of the camera housing.

An inspection and/or cleaning nozzle for operation with liquids under high pressure includes a coupling section coupleable to a high-pressure tube and a camera recess running concentric to a longitudinal axis arranged in a camera-receiving portion. A camera module is accommodated releasably connected to an encapsulated water-tight camera housing. Optics and camera electronics are permanently incorporated in the camera housing such that the optics and camera electronics are protected in the interior of the camera housing and fogging of the optics is prevented. This is achieved in that a bore is made in the wall of camera housing running radially across the longitudinal axis direction, the opening of bore is sealed water-tight and air-tight with a membrane, so that the surface of membrane fully overlaps the opening of bore. This surface of the membrane is made correspondingly larger than bore and the membrane is formed multilayered from a laminate film.
