DEVICE AND METHOD FOR COOLING A ROLL
The invention relates to a device and a method for cooling a roll. The roll concerned can be a roller in a roll stand or a measuring roll. The device comprises a cooling shell having a cross section in the shape of a section of a circular arc, for covering a surface region of the roll (200), wherein, in the region of an edge of the cooling shell, a bearing is formed with a pivot joint (120) with an axis of rotation running perpendicular to the circular arc-shaped cross-section, for pivoting the cooling shell about the axis of rotation. According to the invention, in order to ensure that the size of the cooling gap during the rolling operation or during the operation of a measuring roll is always autonomously optimally set, the bearing has a degree of freedom in radial direction r with respect to the circular arc-shaped cross-section of the cooling shell, such that the cooling shell is mounted in the bearing in such a way as to be freely movable in the radial direction.
Roller framework having a framework cooler for cooling a steel band
A framework cooler (20) for cooling a steel strip (50), installed in a roller framework (11), in place of the work rolls (5) and their associated installation pieces (5a and 5b). The framework cooler (20) is sized to be installed into the roller framework (11) through the operator-side roller stands (1) of the roller framework (11). The cooler (20) includes a lower (21b) and an upper water tank (21a), each having a connection (22) for a coolant, and includes a plurality of cooling nozzles (23), or cooling tubes (23a) arranged in the depth direction (T) of the framework cooler (20) or at least one cooling slot (24) extending in the depth direction (T). The bottom and top sides of the steel strip (50) may be cooled.
Reduction of Surface Defects During Finish Rolling of Hot Strip
The invention relates to a finishing train for finish rolling hot strip. It is the object of the invention to modify an existing finishing train in such a way that the surface quality of the hot strip produced is improved without, however, significantly increasing the use of energy during production. This is intended to enable the thin hot strip produced to be used even for applications with high demands on surface quality. This object is achieved by a cleaning nozzle which cleans the upper side of the exit table, thus ensuring that scale and/or rolling dust are/is removed from the exit table.
Roll stand having a hybrid cooling device
A roll stand (1) for rolling flat rolling stock (2) includes an upper working roller (3) and a lower working roller (4) that form a roll gap (5) between each other. The flat rolling stock (2) runs through the roll gap (5) in a transport direction (x) during rolling of the flat rolling stock (2). An upper cooling device (8), cools the upper working roller (3) and is arranged on the outlet side of the roll stand (1). The upper cooling device (8) has an upper spray boom (17), which extends parallel to the upper working roller (3) and has a plurality of upper spray nozzles (22), which spray a liquid coolant (12) onto the upper working roller (3). The upper cooling device (8) also has a lower spray boom (18), which extends parallel to the upper working roller (3) and has a plurality of lower spray nozzles (23), which spray the liquid coolant (12) onto the upper working roller (3). The lower spray boom (18) is arranged between the flat rolling stock (2) and the upper spray boom (17). At least some of the upper spray nozzles (22) are flat jet nozzles, and at least some of the lower spray nozzles (23) are full jet nozzles.
COLD ROLLING ROLLED STOCK IN A MILL TRAIN WITH MULTIPLE ROLL STANDS
A method for cold rolling rolled stock (2) in a mill train (1) with multiple roll stands (3 to 7). An upper limit temperature and/or a lower limit temperature is provided for a rolled stock temperature of the rolled stock (2) for at least one rolling pass, and the rolled stock temperature is controlled and/or regulated by at least one control or regulating measure such that during the at least one rolling pass, the rolled stock temperature does not exceed the upper limit temperature specified for the rolling pass and/or the rolled stock temperature does not fall below the lower limit temperature specified for the rolling pass.
Frequency-dependent distribution of manipulated variables for changing the rolling stock cross section in a roll train
Rolling stock (2) composed of metal is rolled in rolling stands (3a to 3f) of a roll train (1) under the control of a control device. The control device, on the basis of a variable (δQ) (which is characteristic of the change in the cross section with which the rolling stock (2) is supposed to run out of a rolling stand (3e) of the roll train (1)), first determines all provisional manipulated variables (Sb to Se) for the rolling stand (3e) and rolling stands (3b to 3d) located upstream of the rolling stand (3e), and uses said provisional manipulated variables to determine final manipulated variables (Sb′ to Se′), which influence the cross section with which the rolling stock (2) runs out of the respective rolling stand (3b to 3e). The control device determines the provisional manipulated variables (Sb to Sd) for the upstream rolling stands (3b to 3d) by frequency filtering.
A SEAL FOR USE IN CRYOGENIC APPLICATIONS
A sealing device includes a flexible seal (10), a source of gas (15), a gas inlet (14) into the seal, and a gas outlet (17) from the seal 10, 17 whereby gas flows through the seal. A cryogenic source cools the seal and the gas from the cryogen helps seal the seal to the roll and to keep the seal flexible as the gas flows.
Stripping device for a roll stand
A stripping device (7) for a roll stand (1) includes a stripper carrier (15) and a stripper (17) arranged on the stripper carrier (15). The stripper (17) has a main body (19) produced from a fiber-plastic composite. The main body has a main body bottom side (23), which contacts the stripper carrier (15). A felt layer (21) is arranged on a main body top side (25) of the main body (19) which is opposite the main body bottom side (23).
Cooling of rolled matertial
A cooling bar (1) for cooling rolled material (5) being moved in a transport direction (3) and in particular for reducing temperature differences in the temperature of the rolled material (5) transversely to the direction of transport (3). The cooling bar (1) has several full jet nozzles (11) by means of which a coolant beam of a coolant with an approximately constant jet diameter can be distributed to the rolling stock (5) in the direction of distribution (15). A cooling device has at least two cooling bars (1) of that type. The cooling bars extend transversely to a transport direction, one behind the other. Each cooling bar has a respective different pattern of jet nozzles and selection of applicable pattern of jet nozzles in their respective bars selectively cools the rolled material transversely to the transport direction.
