A forge and method of forging is provided. The forge converts an asymmetric railroad rail to a symmetric railroad rail through a combination of vertical and horizontal forging operations. The rail is linearly translated to heating and forging stations on a roller table. The asymmetric to symmetric conversion can be completed without the need for reorienting the rail except along a single translational axis.

A rolling mill, in particular a cold rolling mill, including: rolls or even sets of rollers comprising at least one pair of work rolls capable of defining a roll gap of a strip to be rolled, at least one bar for spraying a lubricating and/or cooling fluid, disposed near the plane of the strip to be rolled, a stand inside of which the rolls are arranged, at least one device for adjusting the inclination of the at least one bar comprising an actuator, such as a hydraulic cylinder configured to change the inclination of the bar around the pivot axis. The actuator of the device for adjusting the inclination is arranged, on the second side of the stand, opposite to the first side of the maintenance window.

The invention relates to a stand change carriage (10) for simultaneously receiving and transporting a plurality of stands of a rolling mill for rolling metal rods, wires or pipes, the stand change carriage (10) comprising a plurality of stand places (16), one of the stands being receivable individually in each of the stand places (16), the stand change carriage (10) comprising a plurality of steerable wheels (20), in order to transport the stands on rails or along a rail-less mill floor, and the stand change carriage comprising at least one hydraulic motor (21) which is operatively connected to at least one of the wheels (20) in order to drive it.
