Rolling mill with rolling dependent on material properties

A rolling mill has a rolling stand (1) in which a flat rolled product (2) composed of metal is rolled. A sensor device (6), which detects at least one measured variable (M) characteristic of a material property of the flat rolled product (2), is arranged upstream and/or downstream of the rolling stand (1). The material property can be, in particular, an electromagnetic property or a mechanical property of the rolled product (2). The sensor device (6) transfers the detected measured variable (M) to a control device (9) for the rolling mill. Taking into account the measured variable (M), the control device (9) determines a control value (A) for the rolling stand (1). The control of the rolling stand (1) influences the material property of the flat rolled product (2). The control value (A) is a ratio of the peripheral speeds (vO, vU) at which the upper and the lower working rolls (3, 4) of the rolling stand (1) rotate.

DEVICE FOR ROLLING A METAL LITHIUM BAND

A device for manufacturing a lithium band including a rolling area including two rolling cylinders, a feed-in area including a device for feeding in the rolling area with a lithium band with a first thickness, a device for feeding in two films interposed between the lithium band with a first thickness and a rolling cylinder, and a storage area including a device for collecting a lithium band having a second thickness. The lithium band with a second thickness is tensioned and rolls ensure a separation of each film off the surface of one of the rolling cylinders in a separation area located beyond a horizontal plane passing through the axis of rotation of the rolling cylinder and located opposite to the other rolling cylinder.

Dynamic Roll Eccentricity Identification Using Extended Kalman Filter State Estimation and Control Upgrade for Cold Rolling Mills

Control system for cold rolling mills to improve sheet metal thickness uniformity. Sensors monitor the state of the cold rolling mill by measuring (i) roll eccentricity, (ii) roll slips during mill operation, (iii) mill disturbances from roll speed or roll force manifestations, and (iv) unknown disturbances referred to as process noise. The controller analyzes data from sensors to compensate. Data collected during the mill operation by the sensors are delayed in reaching the controller. This communication delay is accounted for by using a filter. Since an objective of the controller software is dynamic identification of eccentricity of the back up rolls, which is non-linear by nature, an Extended Kalman Filter may be used.
