Method for producing a cutting head
A method for producing a replaceable cutting head is described. The replaceable cutting head is manufactured by extruding a blank. During extrusion of the blank, a number of helical coolant channels and a number of helical flutes are simultaneously formed. After extrusion, the flutes have a first angle of twist (D1), and the coolant channels have a second angle of twist (D2). After extrusion, the blank is sintered and then reworked to selectively adjust the first angle of twist (D1) and the pitch of the flutes. The method produces an endless blank that is capable of being parted off to a desired length without any sacrificial allowance, which provides significant material and cost savings as compared to conventional methods.

The invention relates to a method for producing a blank, in particular a blank for the production of a cutting tool, wherein a green body extending in the direction of the extrusion axis is produced from extrusion material by means of an extruder which has an extrusion channel extending along an extrusion axis; wherein the extrusion channel together with a movable mold element forms a die of the extruder; and wherein the mold element is moved relative to the extrusion channel and within said extrusion channel during the extrusion of the green body, whereby the shaping geometry of the die is changed so that the completely extruded green body hereby has a first functional segment and a second functional segment adjacent thereto in the direction of the extrusion axis (4); wherein the two functional segments differ with regard to their geometries impressed by the die.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A CYLINDRICAL BODY
The invention relates to a method and a device for producing a circular-cylindrical body (4) which consists of a plastic compound and which has at least one helical inner recess that runs in the interior of the body. The method has the following steps: producing a circular-cylindrical body (4), which consists of a plastic compound and which has at least one linear inner recess that runs in the interior of the body, by means of an extrusion molding die (1), discharging the circular-cylindrical body (4) out of the extrusion molding die (1) via a twisting section (7) onto a holding and transporting device (2) which is designed to hold and transport the circular-cylindrical body (4) and which can be rotated about the longitudinal axis of the holding and transporting device, twisting the circular-cylindrical body (4) on the twisting section (7) in order to form the at least one helical inner recess by rotating the holding and transporting device (2) together with the circular-cylindrical body being held and transported in the holding and transporting device, and discharging the circular-cylindrical body (4), which has at least one helical inner recess running in the interior of the body, out of the holding and transporting device (2) onto a storage device (3).
Method for Producing a Blank from Extrusion Material, and Extruder
The invention relates to a method for producing a blank, in particular a blank for the production of a cutting tool, wherein a green body extending in the direction of the extrusion axis is produced from extrusion material by means of an extruder which has an extrusion channel extending along an extrusion axis; wherein the extrusion channel together with a movable mold element forms a die of the extruder; and wherein the mold element is moved relative to the extrusion channel and within said extrusion channel during the extrusion of the green body, whereby the shaping geometry of the die is changed so that the completely extruded green body hereby has a first functional segment and a second functional segment adjacent thereto in the direction of the extrusion axis (4); wherein the two functional segments differ with regard to their geometries impressed by the die.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A CUTTING HEAD, AND CUTTING HEAD
A method for producing a cutting head is specified. The latter is manufactured from a blank, which in turn is manufactured by means of extrusion. During extrusion, a number of coolant channels as well as a number of flutes are formed, wherein the coolant channels and the flutes are in each case formed helically during extrusion. After extrusion, the flutes have a pitch that is adjusted by grinding the flutes to a finished dimension. The method is particularly material-saving. A corresponding cutting head is moreover specified.
