A stamp tool assembly is provided that includes a forming cavity for shaping a blank into a formed part. The stamp tool assembly includes adjustable block assembly for modifying the amount of material draw-in from subsequently stamped blanks. A draw-in sensor measures the amount of material from the blanks that is not drawn-into the forming cavity during each stroke. Based on the readings from the draw-in sensor, the adjustable block assembly is expanded or reduced. The adjustable block assembly includes a pair of opposing inclined plates having interlocking teeth such that movement of one plate with respect to the other plate changes a vertical extension of the adjustable block assembly. The adjustable block assembly sets the spacing between two opposing draw-in surfaces, which, in turn, changes the amount of draw-in. Multiple adjustable block assemblies and draw-in sensors may be used in conjunction and controlled via a controlling system.

The electromagnetic stamping method includes: dividing a blank holder of a stamping device into a plurality of blank holder areas based on a contour characteristic of a workpiece to be stamped; setting a blank holder force function over time for each blank holder area based on a shape characteristic of the blank holder area; collecting blank holder force data of each blank holder area every cycle period t0, and calculating an error between the blank holder force data and a value of the blank holder force function at a current time; and controlling a blank holder force for each blank holder area based on the error, and obtaining the workpiece to be stamped by stamping sheet material under the blank holder force.

A panel-shaped formed product made of a metal sheet includes a top panel portion, an opening portion, and a vertical wall portion. The top panel portion is polygonal. The opening portion is provided in the top panel portion. The vertical wall portion extends from at least not less than two adjacent borders among the borders of the top panel portion. At least one pair of each vertical wall portion of pairs of adjacent vertical wall portions of the vertical wall portions has a stepped portion. As a result, the panel shaped formed product has fewer defects such as cracks and wrinkles even when it has a shape that is difficult to form.

A forming die includes a first die component with a male bead and a second die component with a female bead. The male bead and the female bead form a bead with a reverse bead geometry with the male bead having a groove and the female bead having a protrusion complimentary with the groove such that the protrusion is aligned with the groove when the male bead extends into the female bead. Also, the protrusion is adjustable in real-time within the female bead. A stamping machine with the first die component and the second die component has a control unit configured to adjust the protrusion in real-time as a function of mechanical property testing data, width testing data, thickness testing data, lubrication testing data and/or image sensor module data on one or more blanks to be stamped and/or one or more blanks that have been stamped.

The blank-holding binder includes a draw bead and a corresponding depression is present on the upper die. In the stamping process, the draw bead engages a blank in a first stage, causing the blank to begin to stretch into the shape of the drawing punch with a greater tightened partially finished panel shape. In a second stage, the draw bead disengages the blank as the blank is drawn towards the drawing punch. In a final stage, the stake bead engages the blank to tighten the blank around the drawing punch into a final shape.
