POWDER SPRAYING HEAD AND POWDER COATING INSTALLATION WITH SUCH
20200360942 · 2020-11-19 ·

A powder spraying head for spraying a powder on a can body to be coated comprises a work chamber inside the powder spraying head, a powder tube for providing the powder, a charging electrode for charging the powder with an electrostatic charge and a guiding electrode for deflecting the powder present inside the work chamber substantially in the direction of the work opening. The charging electrode is arranged in the area of the powder outlet and is formed with a tip in the direction of the powder streaming into the work chamber. Additionally or alternatively, the guiding electrode is plate-shaped and a flat side of the guiding electrode is oriented towards the work chamber.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ROLL SEAM WELDING CONTAINER SHELLS
20200055108 · 2020-02-20 ·

A welding installation with a calibration tool is provided in a device for producing container shells. The force exerted by the container shells on the calibration tool is measured and evaluated as information for the overlapping width of the respective container shell. This allows adjusting the calibration tool during configuration of the device and allows the removal of container shells welded with too large or too small overlapping during production of container shells.

Metal aerosol container and method of manufacture

Two-piece metal aerosol container and method of manufacture are provided in accordance with the present invention. A rolled and longitudinally welded cylindrical tube forms the container body, including a cylindrical sidewall and reduced diameter shoulder and neck portions (formed by a sequential necking process), while a separate metal base component is attached via a crimped seam. The open-top end of the container neck portion is curled to receive a manually actuatable dispensing valve assembly. The container is resistant to internal pressures in excess of 311 psi (2150 kPa) and offers increased strength and pressure resistance (compared to a three piece rolled metal aerosol container), while being easy to manufacture and low in cost.

FOUR-LAYER CRIMPING STRUCTURE OF SMALL THREE-PIECE IRREGULAR CAN AND SEAMING METHOD THEREOF
20190039114 · 2019-02-07 · ·

A crimping structure of a small irregular can and a manufacturing method thereof, in particular to a seam method for buckling a bottom by stamping. The crimping structure includes a can body crimping edge and a can bottom crimping edge made of a plate material of a same type, wherein the can body crimping edge covers the can body crimping edge to crimp 90 degrees inward. A four-layer structure with a first can body crimping edge layer, a can bottom crimping edge layer, a second can body crimping edge layer and a can bottom layer, arranged in a sequence, is formed. By adopting the above-mentioned four-layer crimping structure of the small three-piece irregular can, the sealing performance of the can body is greatly enhanced, effectively improving the moisture-proof performance, thereby protecting the safety of food in the can.

BLANK HOLDER DEVICE FOR A DRAWING DEVICE FOR PRODUCING HOLLOW CYLINDRICAL BODIES

A blank holder device for a drawing device, for example a drawing press. The blank holder device has a blank holder sleeve, which, in a predetermined position exerts a blank holder force on a blank part. The sleeve is fastened to a head part and is stationary relative to it. To move the blank holder sleeve in a stroke direction, the head part is borne, through a head part guiding arrangement, at least at two front guide locations, to undergo translational motion in a stroke direction, and it is braced to be essentially stationary in all directions at right angles to the stroke direction. On the side opposite the blank holder sleeve, the head part is connected with at least one drive element of the blank holder drive device and that can, together with the head part, be moved by a motor and a coupling arrangement in the stroke direction.

ZERO SCRAP MANUFACTURING METHODS FOR METAL CONTAINERS, AND ASSOCIATED TOOLING

A zero-scrap method and associating tooling for manufacturing can bodies is provided. A metal sheet is shorn into strips, and each strip is wound to form a cylindrical tube. Each tube is cut into two or more can bodies using a zigzagged pattern, such that each can body has one planar edge and one zigzagged edge with triangular formations. Each can body is mounted on a mounting base for support while steps are performed to form the zigzagged edge into the can body base. A folding die folds the triangular formations until their apexes all coincide with one another and with the central axis of the can body. A flattening die then flattens the folded formation into a flat end of the can body. A friction stir welding assembly then stir welds the entire flat end of the can body at one time in order to seal all seams.
