A device for producing a metal mesh reinforcement that includes joining a plurality of long profiles and a winding profile. The device includes a welding unit for welding a longitudinal profile to a winding profile and a feed unit for feeding a portion of the winding profile provided from a master to the welding unit. The feed unit includes a cutting arrangement for cutting a profile portion of the winding profile from the master. The cutting arrangement is arranged within a cutting zone of the device remote from the welding unit such that, after cutting of the winding profile, the end portion of the winding profile cut from the master is fed from the cutting zone to the welding unit and at least one further weld is made between the cut-off end portion of the winding profile and a longitudinal profile to produce the metal mesh reinforcement.

An apparatus for producing a metal grid reinforcement from metal profiles including longitudinal profiles and a winding profile, the apparatus having a welding unit for welding a longitudinal profile, and a winding profile guide guiding the winding profile, which can be fed from a provision location of the winding profile to the winding profile guide, to the welding unit. The winding profile guide has a contact side and a positioning side that are movable relative to one another, with the contact and positioning sides being matched such that a winding profile present between the contact and positioning sides is forced into a centered position when the positioning and contact sides are moved towards one another. An apparatus for equipping a basket welding machine, the apparatus having an insertion device. The apparatus is characterized in that the insertion device has a plurality of receiving positions for all the longitudinal wires of a basket to be produced using the basket welding machine, the insertion device having a receiving element for receiving the longitudinal wires of a basket, the receiving positions being spaced apart in the radial direction from an axis of rotation of the insertion device, wherein the insertion device is designed to feed at least two longitudinal wires arranged on the insertion device to the basket welding machine simultaneously in one insertion operation, the insertion operation of the longitudinal wires into the basket welding machine being effected by a movement of the insertion device in the axial direction of the axis of rotation of the insertion device. A method and apparatus for rebar cage construction is disclosed. A computerized controller operates an apparatus that automates parts of the rebar cage formation process. The computer controls motors for rotating the barrel and operating a wagon containing spiral coil wire. Initial rods are placed on a plurality of latitudinal conveyors. Dual cage ring assemblies are placed on the latitudinal conveyors, and notches or slots within the cage rings engage with the initial rods. The conveyors rotate the dual cage ring assemblies and a rod dispenser places a rod in additional notches. The rods, when completely installed, form a barrel structure. A wagon containing spiral coil wire is then moved longitudinally while the conveyors rotate to wrap the spiral coil wire around the barrel, to form a spiraled rebar cage.

A method and apparatus for providing rib wires of a wire wrap screen on a pipe comprises one or more straps adapted to receive a plurality of rib wires and to engage the pipe, at least one of the straps being adapted to align at least a portion of the rib wires generally parallel with the longitudinal axis of the pipe and generally equidistantly spaced apart over the circumference of the pipe. The pipe with rib wires, once secured with the straps, can then be introduced into a wire wrap machine to form the wire wrap screen over the rib wires.
