Water soluble polymer for core forming
A core forming method is provided for forming a core. The core forming method includes forming one or more mold parts of water-soluble polymer (WSP), each mold part including a bond area and a part forming area, moistening the bond areas, bonding the mold parts together with the bond areas moistened and the part forming areas aligned to form a cavity shaped as a negative of the core, injecting a slurry, which is non-reactive with the WSP, into the cavity and removing the WSP with water once the slurry is cured.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING OF INVESTMENT CASTING PATTERNS
A system and method for generating investment casting patterns by 3D printing. CAD software is used to generate a hollow 3D model of a solid 3D model of a desired pattern. The pattern is generated by a 3D printer which prints the exterior of the pattern in pattern wax and the interior in support wax.

METHOD OF FORMING A CASTING MOLD PATTERN
A method of forming a casting mold pattern that includes a core comprises mounting the core in a fixture such that the core is free of flexing imposed by the fixture. Material is removed from and/or added to a first and/or second mounting surface of the core. The core is then positioned in a die, and wax is conducted into the die to form the pattern. The amount of material removed from the first and/or second mounting surface is such that the core will be within a predetermined range of acceptable positions when the core is in the die with the first mounting surface engaging a first core locating surface of the die end with the second mounting surface engaging a second core locating surface of the die. The range of acceptable positions is determined relative to an ideal position of an ideal core.

Method of Manufacturing Golf Club Head Having Stress-Reducing Features
Methods of manufacturing a golf club head comprising one or more stiffening members proximate the face, and particularly solid rods or a plate with one or more cutouts, is disclosed herein. One method comprises the steps of preparing a wax mold of a golf club head including a plate stiffening member with excess material, casting the golf club head, and machining away the excess material. Another method comprises the steps of casting a golf club body, providing a plate stiffening member, providing a face component such as a face cup, tack welding the plate stiffening member and the face component to the golf club body, and welding these parts together.

Medical device and method of manufacture yielding medical devices with consistent surface features
A medical scope device such as an endoscope is produced using a cast aluminum process including a molten casting aluminum alloy including a maximum of 0.2 - 0.3% Si and at least 5% Zn. The process includes providing an investment casting mold, casting the aluminum alloy in the mold to create a component and removing the mold from the component, post-machining the component to meet a desired specification, and after post-machining the component, performing surface finishing, such as centrifugal barrel finishing (CBF) sufficient to remove impurities on casting surfaces by 2 - 3 mils, then coating the component with a micro-crystalline aluminum anodic coating of at least 0.5 mil thickness. A medical scope and product-by-process is also provided employing such techniques.
FOUNDRY MOLD, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE MOLD AND FOUNDRY METHOD
A foundry mold includes at least one molding cavity and one pair of feeder arms. The molding cavity extends, along a horizontal axis, from a first end to a second end, and the first pair of feeder arms comprises a first feeder arm, oriented in a substantially vertical direction and connected to the first end of the first molding cavity, and a second feeder arm, substantially parallel to the first feeder arm and connected to the second end of the first molding cavity.
