An injection device of a light metal injection molding machine of the disclosure includes: a melting cylinder that heats and melts a billet pushed along a cylinder hole and stores molten metal; an injection cylinder that injects, by an inserted plunger, the molten metal supplied by free fall due to the own weight from the melting cylinder through a communication path that can be opened and closed; and a molten metal pot in which a molten metal supply/discharge port connected to the melting cylinder is opened at a location in the melting cylinder that does not face an opening of the communication path on the melting cylinder side, and molten metal in an amount in excess of a capacity that can be stored in the melting cylinder is stored.

A heat dissipation mechanism for connecting with at least one heat source includes a main body and at least one heat dissipation block. The main body is made by a material of alloy or metal through a die casting process and has a first side and a second side that are corresponding to each other. The heat dissipation block is disposed on the first side of the main body, made by a first high thermal conductivity material, and having a connecting surface that protrudes outside the main body. The connecting surface directly or indirectly connects with the heat source. The heat dissipation block connects with the main body by means of a first connecting structure, the first connecting structure having a first pair of interlock structures that are disposed in the main body and the heat dissipation block respectively.

Apparatus and methods for creating cast metal objects in space and other environments. Molds are created using additive manufacturing and are injected with a castable metal having a melting point lower than a mold melting point. In some aspects, the additive manufacturing device and the metal casting unit are contained in the same unit.
