POWDER DISTRIBUTION DEVICE AND 3D PRINTING DEVICE INCLUDING SAME
The present invention relates to a powder distribution device that can uniformly distribute powder using powder flow due to the weight of the powder itself, and a 3D printing device including the same. The powder distribution device of the present invention comprises a powder distribution unit that includes: an outer frame having an empty powder material inlet port; and at least one distribution plate disposed inside the outer frame to disperse introduced powder, wherein the powder can be broken down using the powder flow without additional power from a feed screw, a motor, or the like.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING METHOD AND POWDER
A method of manufacturing a part including selective laser melting of a powder including a steel alloy containing, by weight, 16% to 19% chromium and 12.2% to 13.5% nickel, wherein the powder is substantially non-magnetic.
System and method for powder processing
The present invention may comprise processes, methods, and systems for powder processing aimed at and characterized in reduction of adsorbed gases, vapors, particulates, and moisture through high-temperature vacuum out-gassing by disintegrating the powder bulk or flow into separate particles. Heat may be transferred to powder particles in vacuum by multiple interactions during intimate contact with heated metal balls within a tube or other container.

METHOD OF AND APPARATUS USING A SPLIT WIPER FOR THE REPAIR OF OBJECTS PROTRUDING ABOVE A POWDER BED
A method of repairing a component using an additive manufacturing process is presented. The method includes submerging the component into a powder bed so that a portion of the component to be repaired is level with a surface of the powder bed and a protruding portion of the component protrudes above the surface of the powder bed, positioning a split wiper that includes a first wiper segment and a second wiper segment in the powder bed at the surface, advancing a quantity of powder by translating the first wiper segment and the second wiper segment across the surface of the powder bed, and directing a laser beam across the surface to fuse powder particles of the powder bed to the underlying substrate forming a layer of the component. Each of the first wiper segment and the second wiper segment follow a different contour of the protruding portion at the surface.
Method for additive manufacturing
A method for forming a three-dimensional article through successive fusion of parts of a powder bed comprising: providing a model of the three dimensional article, applying a first powder layer on a work table, directing an energy beam over the work table causing the first powder layer to fuse in selected locations according to the model to form a first cross section of the three-dimensional article, applying a second powder layer on the work table, directing the energy beam over the work table causing the second powder layer to fuse in selected locations according to the model to form a second cross section of the three-dimensional article, wherein the second layer is bonded to the first layer, detecting a local thickness in at least two positions in at least the second powder layer, varying an energy beam parameter depending on the detected local thickness of the second powder layer.
Plasticizing apparatus, plasticizing method, and three-dimensional shaping apparatus
A plasticizing apparatus for plasticizing a material to form a molten material includes a screw in a columnar shape having a groove formed face, in which a material flow channel including a groove portion to be supplied with the material is formed, and a barrel having a screw opposed face, which is a face opposed to the groove formed face, and in which a sending-out hole for sending out the molten material is formed at a center, and a heating portion heating the material. The material flow channel has a recess provided at a center of the groove formed face, and the groove portion extending in a spiral shape toward an outer circumference of the groove formed face from the recess, and a heat insulating portion having a lower thermal conductivity than an outer circumferential portion in the screw is provided in at least a part of an inner circumferential portion including the recess in the screw.
