METAL-FOAM BODY AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF AND THE USE THEREOF AS A CATALYST
The invention relates to a method for producing a metal-foam body, comprising the steps of (a) providing a metal-foam body A, which consists of nickel, cobalt, copper, or alloys or combinations thereof, (b) applying an aluminum-containing material MP to metal-foam body A so as to obtain metal-foam body AX, (c) thermally treating of metal-foam body AX, with the exclusion of oxygen, to achieve the formation of an alloy between the metallic components of metal-foam body A and the aluminum-containing material MP so as to obtain metal-foam body B, wherein the duration of the thermal treatment is chosen in dependence on the temperature of the thermal treatment and the temperature of the thermal treatment is chosen in dependence on the thickness of the metal-foam body AX. The invention also relates to the metal-foam bodies obtainable by the methods according to the invention and to the use thereof as catalysts for chemical transformations.
HIGH-TEMPERATURE COMPONENT
A high-temperature component made of a refractory metal or a refractory metal alloy, includes a coating for increasing thermal emissivity. The coating is formed substantially of tungsten and rhenium, i.e. of at least 55 wt. % rhenium and at least 10 wt. % tungsten, and has a Re3W phase of at least 35 wt. %. A process for producing a high-temperature component having a coating for increasing thermal emissivity, is also provided.
Sintered metal material having directional porosity and comprising at least one ferromagnetic part, and production method thereof
The invention relates to a sintered metal material comprising at least one magnetic part, characterised by directional through-pores having a size of between 1 and 100 μm, said material having a density varying by less than 20% from one sample of 1 cm3 to another taken from a one-piece part made from the material.
Cylindrical granule made of biocompatible metal material for vertebroplasty
A cylindrical granule made of a biocompatible metal material, in particular titanium or its alloys, for vertebroplasty operations has a cylindrical shape and includes a central cylindrical body connected at its ends to a first disc and to a second disc respectively, and a portion with a trabeculated structure, which extends around the central cylindrical body between the lower surface of the first disc and the upper surface of the second disc.
Method for producing an open-pored metal body having an oxide layer and metal body produced by said method
An open-pored metal body, which is formed having a core layer (A) consisting of Ni, Co, Fe, Cu, Ag or an alloy formed having one of said chemical elements, wherein one of said chemical elements is present in the alloy at more than 25 at %, and a gradated layer (B) is formed on surfaces of the core layer (A), said gradated layer being formed by intermetallic phase or mixed crystals of Al, and a layer (C), which is formed having aluminum oxide, is formed on the gradated layer (B).
Titanium product and method for producing the same
A titanium product includes an inner layer portion and a surface layer portion joined to the inner layer portion. The surface layer portion has a composition consisting of, by mass %, O: 0.4% or less, Fe: 0.5% or less, Cl: 0.020% or less, the balance: Ti and impurities. The inner layer portion 3 has pores and a composition consisting of, by mass %, O: 0.4% or less, Fe: 0.5% or less, Cl: more than 0.020% and 0.60%, the balance: Ti and impurities. The area fraction of the pores in the inner layer portion in a cross-section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the titanium product is more than 0% and not more than 30%. The Cl content (Cl.sub.I) of the inner layer portion, a thickness (t.sub.S) of the surface layer portion, and a thickness (t.sub.I) of the inner layer portion satisfy the expression [Cl.sub.I≤0.03+0.02×t.sub.S/t.sub.I].
SLIDING MEMBER
The present invention provides a sliding member which enables further reduction of friction and improvement of seizure resistance without deteriorating wear resistance of a sliding surface. The sliding member includes a porous metal base material, and a resin material with which the porous metal base material is impregnated. The sliding member includes an exposed sliding surface. The sliding surface includes a top surface made of the resin material, and a bottom surface made of the porous metal base material. A height from the bottom surface to the top surface is 10 to 30 μm, and the resin material includes fluorine resin.
Laser-produced porous surface
The present invention disclosed a method of producing a three-dimensional porous tissue in-growth structure. The method includes the steps of depositing a first layer of metal powder and scanning the first layer of metal powder with a laser beam to form a portion of a plurality of predetermined unit cells. Depositing at least one additional layer of metal powder onto a previous layer and repeating the step of scanning a laser beam for at least one of the additional layers in order to continuing forming the predetermined unit cells. The method further includes continuing the depositing and scanning steps to form a medical implant.
