TWIST DRILL BIT
A boring tool may include a coupling portion for interfacing with a powered driver, a shank operably coupled to the coupling portion, a cutting portion operably coupled to the shank, and a cutting tip operably coupled to a distal end of the cutting portion relative to the shank. The coupling portion, the shank, the cutting portion and the cutting tip share an axis. The cutting portion may be defined by a plurality of helical cutting flutes that have a variable rate that increases as distance from the cutting tip increases. The shank may include a torsion zone and the cutting tip may include a point angle between about 120 degrees and about 90 degrees.
CUTTING TOOL, MODULE, CUTTING TOOL UNIT, AND CUTTING SYSTEM
A cutting tool includes a shaft portion. The shaft portion includes an increased-diameter portion having a diameter larger than a diameter of other portion of the shaft portion. The increased-diameter portion has a recessed portion formed in a peripheral surface of the increased-diameter portion.
CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool includes: a main body portion composed of a cemented carbide; and a front end portion composed of a binderless cubic boron nitride polycrystal, the front end portion being joined to the main body portion. In an axial direction along a rotation axis of the main body portion, the main body portion has a first end and a second end opposite to the first end. The front end portion has a neck portion and an edge portion, the neck portion protruding from the second end along the axial direction, the edge portion being continuous to the neck portion, the edge portion being located at a location distant away from the second end relative to the neck portion in the axial direction. In the axial direction, the neck portion has a third end on the edge portion side and a fourth end opposite to the third end.
Insert holder having insert receiving recess with insert orientation projection and cutting tool
A cutting tool includes a cutting insert resiliently clamped in an insert holder. The insert holder includes a forwardly located insert mounting portion that includes an insert receiving recess which extends along a recess axis. The insert holder includes a fastening member through hole opening out to the insert receiving recess. The insert receiving recess includes an insert orientation projection. The fastening member through hole has a through hole angular extent about the recess axis. The insert orientation projection has an insert orientation projection angular extent about the recess axis. The insert orientation projection angular extent at least partially angularly overlaps the through hole angular extent about the recess axis.
ACCESSORY TOOL
An accessory tool includes an adapter end, and a shank coupled to the adapter end and including a first length. The shank includes a tool engagement portion, and a first reduced portion disposed between the tool engagement portion and the adapter end. The first reduced portion has a second length. The shank additionally includes a second reduced portion formed in the tool engagement portion between the first reduced portion and an end of the shank. The second length is 2.5% to 15% of a total length of the accessory tool.
Accessory tool
An accessory tool includes an adapter end having a maximum outer dimension, and a shank coupled to the adapter end. The shank includes a tool engagement portion including a cross section having a maximum outer width, a first reduced portion disposed between the tool engagement portion and the adapter end and having a first minimum outer dimension and a first length, and a second reduced portion formed in the tool engagement portion between the first reduced portion and an end of the shank. The second reduced portion is engaged by the tool to secure the shank to the tool, and has a second minimum outer dimension and a second length. The maximum outer dimension is greater than the maximum outer width. The maximum outer width is greater than the first minimum outer dimension and greater the second minimum outer dimension. The first length is greater than the second length.
Drill bit holding assembly for jig and jig apparatus including the same
The invention relates to a drill hold assembly and a jig including the same. The drill hold assembly includes an engaging means which is selectively moveable between a released position to allow sliding movement of the drill bit with respect thereto and an engaged position in which the drill bit is held in a fixed position or within a predefined range of movement with respect to the engaging block to thereby maintain the drill bit in location with the drill hold assembly. The jig apparatus can be used with a powered drill to rotate the drill bit to provide a driving force to the drill bit and the jig is attached to a support surface and a workpiece is positioned between first and second jaws of the jig and the drill bit is advanced along a guide and introduced into the workpiece to form a hole therein at a predefined angle. The drill bit can then be removed from the hole and the drill bit is held by the drill hold assembly to retain the drill bit in a fixed position with respect to the jig to thereby allow relative movement of the jig apparatus and workpiece whilst the drill bit is retained in position with the jig apparatus.
SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING A MACHINE TOOL
The invention relates to a system for a method for controlling a machine tool with at least one replaceable tool and a workpiece, especially a mill blank, and for a method for machining the workpiece, which machine tool comprises a robot arm movable along at least 2, especially at least 3 space axes in an area of motion, which carries and moves at least one workpiece, eventually via a workpiece holder, with a control unit for controlling the machine tool. The machine tool (52) includes a sensor (46), especially a space-fixed optical sensor located thereon or associated thereto, and the detection range (42) of which overlaps the area of motion at least partially for detection of a code on the machine tool.
