Support assembly for a core drill
A support assembly for a core drill which utilizes an improved high strength spoked reinforcer. The reinforcer may be removably mounted a core drill tube by fasteners. A drive connection is removably mounted and centrally located on an outer disc of a pair of discs. The drive connection is adapted to connect with a drive shaft to cause rotation of the tube. The assembly can also include a split in the disc when the high strength spoked reinforcer is not welded thereto, thereby providing a means of water control. The high strength spoked reinforcer can be a separate piece that is bolted to the disc or can be integrally formed as one piece therewith.
SHRINK-FIT CHUCK WITH NOVEL DAMPING, METHOD OF USING THE CHUCK AND TOOL-CLAMPING SYSTEM
A clamping chuck for clamping tools having a tool shank includes a sleeve portion which is open at its free end, is preferably composed of electrically conductive material and forms a tool-holding fixture for frictionally locking fixing of the tool shank in a press fit by shrink-fitting. The sleeve portion, preferably over an entire axial length of the tool-holding fixture, includes an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve. The outer sleeve receives the inner sleeve in an operationally ready state, is joined thereto without play, and is preferably also composed of an electrically conductive material.
Self-Balancing Tool Holder or Material Removal Machine
Improvements in a self-balancing tool holder or material removal machine that allows for greater accuracy of material removal. The balancer is able to self-adjust, any changes in the assembly are automatically adjusted. The adjustment can account for tool wear, accumulation of debris on the tool and balancing at different speeds of rotation. The tool holder balancer can be a mechanical fastener, shrink fit or bonding to the tool holder or material removal machine. The balancer uses a plurality of balls or any form of movable weight in the ring to provide the balance. The plurality of balls or media can freely move around the inside of the ring to offset any imbalance. The balls roll or spin to unique positions to provide a dynamic balance. The number and size of balls or weighted media is selected based upon the maximum amount of dynamic balancing that is required.
Rotating tool, in particular drill, as well as a method for manufacturing a rotating tool of this type
The rotating tool, in particular a drill, includes a fluted cutting shank made of a resistant material, in particular carbide, extending in an axial direction along a rotational axis. Connecting to the cutting shank in the axial direction is an intermediate shank made of a material of greater elasticity in comparison the resistant material, in particular of tool steel. The intermediate shank includes an insertable cutting insert that may be exchanged. The cutting shank is preferably a cutting shank recycled from a used solid carbide drill.
SUPPORT ASSEMBLY FOR A CORE DRILL
A support assembly for a core drill uses an improved reinforcement. The reinforcement can include an extension extending between a center of the tool and a perimeter of the tool the extension can be a non-planar structure having a channel along a portion of the structure. The reinforcement can include a slanted element that can be associated with the extension, that can be formed monolithic with the extension, or otherwise combined with an extension. Multiple slanted elements can be used to form an extension. A top plate can be included for strengthening the reinforcement.
HYDRAULIC EXPANSION CHUCK
The invention relates to a hydraulic expansion chuck comprising a main body (1) that extends along a rotational or longitudinal central axis (2) and is composed of a shaft part (20), for directly or indirectly coupling the hydraulic expansion chuck to a module of a modular tool system or to a machine spindle, and a clamping part (30), joined to the shaft part in a rotationally and axially fixed manner for receiving and clamping a shank tool. The shaft part comprises a receiving socket which extends towards the clamping part and has a central socket-opening in which a connection pin (31) of the clamping part, which pin extends towards the shaft part, is form-fittingly received. According to the invention, the clamping part comprises a stop which is radially offset from the connection pin and axially strikes the receiving socket.
HYDRAULIC EXPANDING CHUCK
A hydraulic expanding chuck having a main body which extends along a rotational axis and has a clamping part for receiving and clamping a shank tool and a shank part having a hollow shank for directly or indirectly coupling the hydraulic expanding chuck to a module of a modular tool system or to a machine spindle. The clamping part has a central receiving opening and, around the receiving opening, at least one pressure chamber to which fluid pressure can be applied and which is separated from the receiving opening via an elastically yielding expansion wall and is connected via a pressure duct to a pressure-generating device situated in the main body. The pressure-generating device is arranged axially in the region between the receiving opening and the hollow shank in a central cut-out, which is coaxial with the receiving opening and which opens into the hollow shank.
CARBIDE TIP HOLE SAW
A hole saw is disclosed herein. The hole saw can include a cylindrical body having inner and outer cylindrical surfaces concentric to each other about a first axis. The body can also extend along the first axis between first and second opposite ends. The hole saw can also include a plurality of teeth each including a tooth body and a carbide tip positioned on the tooth body and forming a tooth face. Each of the tooth faces can define one or more cutting edges. The teeth can be arranged in an alternating pattern including a first tooth in the form of a chisel tooth, a second tooth immediately behind the first tooth and in the form of an offset grind tooth, and a third tooth immediately behind the second tooth and in the form of a triple chip grind tooth.
Insert Tool
An insert tool, in particular a drilling tool, having a base module is disclosed. The base module has a first portion, which in particular includes a conveying helix, and a second portion, which includes cutting bodies with preferably at least two rake faces. The second portion is connected to a first end of the first portion in an integrally bonded manner. The base module is connected, at a second end, to an, in particular hardened, insertion end in an integrally bonded manner by way of in particular a friction welding method.
EXPANSION CLAMPING DEVICE AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
The invention relates to an expansion clamping device having a main body (2) and an expansion sleeve (5) which is inserted into the main body (2) or surrounds the body, forming a pressure chamber (8), the pressure chamber (8) being capable of being acted upon by a hydraulic medium with resilient deformation of the expansion sleeve (5). The expansion sleeve (5) is integrally fixed to the main body (2) at the front axial end region (16) and/or at the rear axial end region (17) of the pressure chamber (8) via a friction-welded connection (14).
