Guide template
A guide template having a tool guide for a working tool, for producing a main-side cut-out on a workpiece main-side surface of a workpiece which workpiece has a workpiece secondary-side surface, which is at an angle to the workpiece main-side surface and proceeding from which a secondary-side cut-out extends into the workpiece next to the workpiece main-side surface at a distance therefrom, wherein the guide template includes a main-side stop having a main-side stop surface for making contact with the workpiece main-side surface and includes a secondary-side stop, which has an engagement protrusion for engaging the secondary-side cut-out, wherein a longitudinal axis of the engagement protrusion extends toward the tool guide to an intersection region, in which the main-side cut-out to be produced and the secondary-side cut-out intersect, and is at an angle to a guide longitudinal axis of the tool guide, wherein the guide template includes a depth stop having a depth stop surface for a counter stop assigned to the working tool for limiting the penetration depth of the working tool into the workpiece with respect to the guide longitudinal axis.
A BORING AND ROUTING TEMPLATE JIG FOR DOOR HARDWARE INSTALLATION
A boring and routing template jig for door hardware installation has a side template plate, clamping for holding the side template plate against a side area of a door to be cut and a face template plate orthogonally connected against an edge of the side template plate by a connection so that the face template plate can lie across an edge face area of the door to be cut adjacent the side area. The face template plate and the side template plate comprise respective guide apertures. The connection is configured to maintain vertical offset between the respective guide apertures and allow horizontal offset adjustment between the face template plate and the side template plate.
CORING TOOL
A coring tool for coring doors is provided. The coring tool may include a tool body having a first end and an opposing second end and a clamp member coupled to the tool body adjacent the second end. The tool body and the clamp member are moveable toward and away from each other in response to operation of a clamp actuator. The coring tool may also include a head having guide bushings for inserting a bit through the guide bushings for coring a door. The head may be coupled adjacent the first end of the tool body and the head may be movable toward and away from the tool body to align the guide bushing with the door to be cored.
Door Lockset Jig
A cutting guide apparatus for guiding placement of bore holes in a door may include a first leg configured to be disposed along a first face of the door, a second leg configured to be disposed along a second face of the door opposite the first face, and a spacing element disposed between the first and second legs. At least one of the first leg or the second leg may include a handle hole guide structure and the spacing element may include an edge bore guide structure. A first portion of the handle hole guide structure that is proximate to the first or second face of the door may be undercut relative to a second portion of the handle hole guide structure that is opposite the first portion.
Backset Adjuster for a Door Lockset Jig
A cutting guide apparatus for guiding placement of bore holes in a door may include an engagement interface and a backset assembly. The engagement interface may be configured to retain the apparatus proximate to an edge of a door. The engagement interface may include a handle hole guide structure and an edge bore guide structure. The backset assembly may be operably coupled to the engagement interface to enable an amount of backset from the edge of the door to a center of the handle hole guide structure to be adjusted. The engagement interface may include a first leg configured to be disposed along a first face of the door, and a second leg configured to be disposed along a second face of the door. The backset assembly may be configured to engage the edge of the door at a variable location between the first and second legs.
A LOCKSET INSTALLATION KIT
As shown, for example in FIGS. 1 to 14, the lockset installation kit includes a door jig (1) configured for attachment to a distal end (2) of a door (3). The door jig (1) clamps to the distal end (2) and is used to guide the boring out of the door handle hole (18), the boring out of the latch bolt hole (15) and the morticing of the latch bolt plate recess (16). As shown for example in FIGS. 27 to 39, the kit also includes a frame jig (29) configured for attachment to a door frame (30). The frame jig (29) is used to guide the boring out of the strike bolt hole (65) and the morticing of the strike plate recess (46). To assist with correct alignment, the kit provides for the door jig (1) to be mechanically coupled to the frame jig (29).
Door lock set installation kit
A kit for assisting in the location of holes to be drilled in a door of a thickness between 1 to 1 for the installation of a conventional lock set at a backset of either 2 or 2 with no additional hardware and without damaging the door. A first guide plate defines a first hole saw guide. A second guide plate is attachable to the first guide plate in one of two orientations and defines a second hole saw guide. At least one clamping member is carried by the second guide plate and extends substantially parallel to the first guide plate. Each of the first guide plate and the clamping member define opposing biasing members such that when mounted on a door, the door is centered within the kit.
GUIDE TEMPLATE
A guide template having a tool guide for a working tool, for producing a main-side cut-out on a workpiece main-side surface of a workpiece which workpiece has a workpiece secondary-side surface, which is at an angle to the workpiece main-side surface and proceeding from which a secondary-side cut-out extends into the workpiece next to the workpiece main-side surface at a distance therefrom, wherein the guide template includes a main-side stop having a main-side stop surface for making contact with the workpiece main-side surface and includes a secondary-side stop, which has an engagement protrusion for engaging the secondary-side cut-out, wherein a longitudinal axis of the engagement protrusion extends toward the tool guide to an intersection region, in which the main-side cut-out to be produced and the secondary-side cut-out intersect, and is at an angle to a guide longitudinal axis of the tool guide wherein the guide template includes a depth stop having a depth stop surface for a counter stop assigned to the working tool for limiting the penetration depth of the working tool into the workpiece with respect to the guide longitudinal axis.
Lock alignment and mounting template system and method
A system for mounting a lock for a door that must have at least one hole to accommodate the lock includes a panel, a pin connected to the panel, and at least one template hole, respectively, for each of the at least one hole, respectively, in the panel positioned relative to the pin and in location required for marking the at least one hole. pin extends substantially perpendicular from a face of the panel and has cross-section of shape of a cylinder cutout of the door. The panel is generally rectangular in shape and has a planar surface on which is connected the pin.
