A drill press includes a main housing, a drill unit supported by the main housing for relative movement therewith, a base coupled to the main housing, the base having a bore formed in a top surface thereof and a magnet to create a magnetic field for magnetically latching the base to a workpiece, and a holding force detection assembly having a plug, a sensor positioned outside the plug to detect the magnetic field within the base, the sensor emitting a variable output voltage signal in response to the detected magnetic field, and a printed circuit board received within a slot in the plug. The holding force detection assembly is received within the bore formed in the top surface of the base.

Magnetic base

A magnetic base for an electric machine tool, in particular for a magnetic core drilling machine. A body that is accommodated in a receiving space. At least one first magnet coil constituting an electromagnet, a coil winding of the at least one first magnet coil being wound on a bobbin and a magnetic force of which is switchable between a maximum resultant holding force and a minimum resultant holding force. The coil winding of the magnet coil has two end sections that are each connected to a connecting cable that serves to make electrical contact between the magnetic coil and the electric machine tool. The body has a first side adapted to be coupled to the electric machine tool and has an opposite second side adapted to be placed on a workpiece that is to be processed. End sections of the coil winding are connected to the connecting cables.

A drill press includes a main housing, a base coupled to the main housing, and a drill unit supported by the main housing for relative movement therewith. The base includes a bore formed in a top surface and a magnet to create a magnetic field for magnetically latching the base to a workpiece. The drill press further includes a holding force detection assembly having a plug and a sensor coupled to the plug to detect the magnetic field within the base. The holding force detection assembly is received within the bore formed in the top surface of the base.

The present disclosure is directed to a modular fixture for a rotor shaft assembly and a system for rotor-bolt nut removal. The modular fixture includes a plurality of arcuate plates that is annularly arranged about a common centerline. Each arcuate plate includes a plurality of jack legs that extends from and perpendicular to a bottom side surface of the respective arcuate plate of the plurality of arcuate plates. The system includes the modular fixture and a vertical drill. The vertical drill is connected to at least one arcuate plate of the plurality of arcuate plates. The vertical drill includes a vertically adjustable drive shaft and a bit that is connected to an end of the vertically adjustable drive shaft. In use, the bit cuts or turns a rotor-bolt nut or may core a rotor bolt of a rotor shaft assembly.

A drill bit forming part of the drill is rotated while moving the drill longitudinally along the rail toward the manhole. Axial reactive force generated by the drill is transferred to the manhole.
