Rotary boring tool alignment device and system
11571753 · 2023-02-07 ·

A device and system for a rotary boring tool that enables a user to align the tool with respect to a target work surface is disclosed. The alignment system includes a rotating member that is mounted on the rotating portion of a rotary boring tool, and a separate portable stationary member that is designed to reside on the work surface. The rotating member includes a focused light source, such as a laser, that projects a light beam parallel to the direction of the rotary boring tool bit onto the stationary member which reflect the beam and produces a visible pattern on the surface of the stationary member that indicates alignment or misalignment of the rotary boring tool with respect to the work surface.

Cutting a workpiece using a cutting tool associated with a system, whereby the system includes a guide having a first glyph and second glyph. The first and second glyphs are both visible on a single side of the guide. The guide is associated with a specific three-dimensional model of a plurality of three-dimensional models. The system further includes an input mechanism, configured to receive a location of the first glyph and of the second glyph, relative to the cutting tool. The system further includes a control system, functionally associated with the input mechanism and with the cutting tool. The control system is configured to direct the cutting tool to cut a version of the specific three-dimensional model into the workpiece at a location, such as at least partially between the locations of the first glyph and the second glyph, which locations were received by said input mechanism.

Rotary cutting tool, rotary cutting unit, and rotary cutting method

According to one implementation, a rotary cutting tool includes: a body without a back taper; and a cutting edge part integrated with the body. The body has a flow path of a cutting oil inside the body. The cutting edge part has a first supply port that supplies the cutting oil toward a workpiece. The body has at least one second supply port that supplies the cutting oil to a clearance formed between a bush for positioning and the body. The bush is used by being inserted in the body.

System for hole making for aircraft skin by normal positioning and locking

The invention discloses a system for hole making for an aircraft skin by normal positioning and locking. The hole-making system includes a posture adjustment part, a normal positioning and locking part and a hole-making execution part. This system solves the problems that the device in the prior art has high complexity and cumbersome positioning and does not adapt to complex curved surfaces, thereby failing to satisfy the needs of efficient hole making in different space states. In the present invention, the expansion of an outer expansion sleeve in a bottom sleeve locks a normal direction for hole making, thereby ensuring the positioning accuracy of the normal direction. An axial position is locked by the mutual cooperation of an axial positioning groove of the bottom sleeve and an axial positioning rib of the outer expansion sleeve. A hole-making auxiliary cylinder contracts to counteract part of an axial force for hole making.

ROTARY TOOL FOR LOWER RECEIVER MANUFACTURING
20230032401 · 2023-02-02 ·

A rotary tool can be adapted for removing material from a workpiece such as a lower receiver. A rotary tool can have an adapter with a major diameter, and a cutter head with a minor diameter. The major diameter of the adapter can reduce deflection and chatter, while the minor diameter of the cutter head can be used to manufacture lower receivers with accuracy. The rotary tool can be adapted to be engaged with a rotary power tool.

DRILLING TOOL
