Variable-frequency ultrasonic machining system for computer numerical control milling machine
A variable-frequency ultrasonic machining system for a computer numerical control milling machine including a cutting force detection unit, a temperature sensing unit and a processor. The processor receives sensing signals of the cutting force detection unit and the temperature sensing unit, processes the received sensing signals according to a set program, and sends control signals to an ultrasonic drive power supply and a corresponding servo motor, respectively. By adjusting the ultrasonic vibration frequency or the frequency of the frequency converter of the CNC milling machine in the machining process, the system ensures the continuity of ultrasonic-assisted milling of a part with a complex curved surface in case of uneven cutting allowance, and improves efficiency of ultrasonic machining.
METHOD OF MACHINING A DENTAL BLOCK FOR MANUFACTURING A DENTAL RESTORATION
A method of machining a dental block (2) by using at least one dental tool (4) to finish or pre-finish a dental restoration (5) at least completely along the equator (5a) with or without a holding stub (5b). The method includes: a step of moving the axis (4a) of the dental tool (4) along a path (6) with an overlaid lateral motion having an amplitude (A), and without separating an unmachined piece (2″) from the rest of the dental block (2). The path (6) lies away from the equator (5a) at least by an amount equal to half of the diameter of the dental tool (4) plus half of the amplitude (A) of the overlaid lateral motion.
System and method for on demand pill canister production
The present invention is a rapid pill canister adapter production system which provides a machine which will accept as input the details of a certain pill or tablet, such as its shape, size, weight and the like and produce a part for use within the pill canister of an automatic pill dispenser to properly line up the pills for dispensing. Once designed and verified, the device would rapidly produce the part for immediate use by the pharmacy. This would enable pharmacies to install new medications into their automatic pill dispensers with very minimal delay.

Method for autofrettage on a blowout preventer body
In a blowout preventer body having a central bore a method of reducing the size and weight of the blowout preventer body while maintaining an acceptable stress level at working pressure comprising machining a portion of the blowout preventer body to proximate the final dimensions, pressuring the blowout preventer body to a higher pressure than the working pressure of the blowout preventer body to yield high stress areas of the blowout preventer body, and relieving the higher pressure from the blowout preventer body such that when the blowout preventer body returns to the non-pressured state the high stress areas will retain compressive stresses and when the blowout preventer body is then pressurized to the working pressure of the blowout preventer body the stresses will be at an acceptable stress level.
FIREARM MUZZLE BRAKE
Provided herein are muzzle brakes, firearms, and methods for manufacturing the same. A muzzle brake for attachment to a muzzle end of a firearm includes a body defining a first end that engages a muzzle end of the firearm, a second end opposite the first end, and an axis extending therebetween. The body further defines one or more openings intersecting the axis to form a channel extending between the first end and the second end along the axis. The body further defines a first port extending from the channel to an exterior surface of the body and a second port extending from the channel to the exterior surface of the body between the first port and the second end. In operation, the first port directs gas from the channel to an external environment of the muzzle brake that disrupts gas directed by the second port from the channel.
