A bolt cutting apparatus including a cutter assembly and a carriage assembly attached to the cutter assembly. The carriage assembly includes a carriage housing, a tool post coupled to the carriage housing, a motor attached to the tool post, and a drive assembly configured to linearly move the tool post. The carriage assembly is configured to be secured to a structure, e.g. a flange. A cutter is attached to the motor and is disposed in the carriage housing. The motor is configured to rotate the cutter to cut a bolt on the structure, e.g. flange.

MACHINING APPARATUS

The present invention aims at eliminating a need for a moving mechanism that moves a machining table and eliminating a need for a protective cover such as a bellows cover, and includes a machining table that holds a workpiece, a machining mechanism that machines the workpiece with a rotary tool while using a machining liquid, and a moving mechanism that linearly moves the machining mechanism at least in each of X and Y directions on a horizontal plane, in which the machining mechanism moved by the moving mechanism machines the workpiece with respect to the machining table, the machining table being fixed at least in the X and Y directions.

Floor saw with blade guard

A powered saw assembly includes a base having a top surface, a column fixed to the top surface, and a guide rail supported above the top surface. The assembly includes a saw unit translatable along the guide rail, the saw unit including a rotating arbor to which a saw blade is attachable for co-rotation therewith. A blade guard at least partially surrounds the saw blade and defines an opening through which the saw blade is movable for attaching or removing the saw blade relative to the arbor. A cover is movably coupled to the blade guard to selectively close the opening. With the cover moved away from the blade guard to expose the opening, the saw blade is attachable or removable relative to the arbor through the opening without passing the saw blade through the slot.

Track-aligned process tools and process of using

During an assembly process for an aircraft, segments of the fuselage are fabricated separately prior to joining the segments together to form the complete fuselage. In order to ensure that abutting ends of the segments mate together correctly, a machining process is performed along the edges of the segments at their ends. A trim-tool assembly includes an indexing cart mounted to a track secured to a surface of the workpiece, where a setting on the indexing cart varies a distance between a centerline of the track and an edge of a workpiece. The trim-tool assembly further includes a tool cart mounted to the track and translatable along the track. The tool cart includes a process tool that performs a machining process on the workpiece at a fixed distance from the centerline of the track.

PANEL SAW AND METHOD OF OPERATION

The invention is a method for operating a panel saw of a framework supporting a set of beveled railings, the railings being held in a parallel and spaced apart orientation to one another and to the framework; a carriage having at least two pairs of opposing beveled carriage side edges and at least one tool securing apparatus, one pair of opposing carriage side edges reversibly removably engages the set of railings to movably locate the carriage between the set of railings; wherein the carriage moves in and out of contact with the railings through the top ends of the railings to allow the one pair of carriage side edges to be moved out of contact with the set of railings while alternately allowing the remaining pair to reversibly engage the set of railings in a manner that lets permits the carriage move along the railings in a self-centering manner.

Attachable and Extendable Saw and Methods for Using Same

An attachable and extendable saw and methods for cutting objects with the attachable and extendable saw are provided. The attachable and extendable saw can include a blade housing coupled to a main body. The blade housing at least partially covers a saw blade and the extendable member can be configured to move the saw blade with or without the blade housing between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the main body. The extendable saw can also include means to drive the saw blade, means to drive the extendable member, and means for attaching the attachable and extendable saw to the objects to be cut.
