A blade sharpening system may include a sharpening tool for sharpening a workpiece. The system may also include a sharpening fixture having a mounting surface for mounting a workpiece to be sharpened by the sharpening tool. The mounting surface may be disposed on a sled that is movable along a sharpening path that passes under a sharpening implement that may be mounted to a movable arm of the sharpening tool when the arm is in an engaged position. The movement of the sled may be coupled to the movement of the arm such that moving the arm from a disengaged position to the engaged position initiates the sled to move in a first direction along the sharpening path and moving the arm from the engaged position to the disengaged position initiates the sled to move along the sharpening path in a second direction.

A method for producing gears, wherein in a first step a set of teeth is formed by means of a skiving wheel rotationally driven by a tool spindle in a workpiece gear rotationally driven synchronously thereto by a workpiece spindle, wherein the workpiece spindle and the tool spindle are at an axis intersection angle to each other and the advancement occurs in the tooth-flank extension direction, and wherein in a second step at least some teeth of the set of teeth are machined by means of a tooth-machining tool. A combined tool is used, in the case of which the toothmachining tool and the skiving wheel are fixedly connected to each other. Between the two steps, the combined tool remains connected to the tool spindle and the workpiece gear remains connected to the workpiece spindle. Between the two steps, merely the relative position of the tool spindle in relation to the workpiece spindle and the rotational speed ratio of the two spindles are changed.

Method for deburring bevel gears and CNC gear-cutting machine having corresponding software for deburring

A method for deburring bevel gears using a deburring tool, which comprises at least one cutting edge, having the following steps: rotationally driving the deburring tool around a deburring spindle axis, rotationally driving a bevel gear around a workpiece spindle axis, wherein the rotational driving of the deburring tool and the rotational driving of the bevel gear take place in a coupled manner with an inverse coupling transmission ratio, it is a continuous method for deburring, in which the cutting edge executes a relative flight movement in relation to the bevel gear, the relative flight movement is defined by a hypocycloid, and wherein a burr is removed at least on one tooth edge of a tooth gap in the region of the bevel gear toe and/or the bevel gear heel by a cutting contact of the cutting edge with the tooth edge.

A tool head for a machine tool, in particular for a gear cutting machine, has a first and a second spindle unit each having at least one spindle bearing and a spindle shaft which is rotatably mounted in the respective spindle bearing about a tool spindle axis. The respective spindle bearing can support both radial and axial forces. The spindle units are arranged coaxially to each other, and a tool is received axially between the spindle shafts. A controlled clamping device connects the spindle bearings together. A control device activates the clamping device during a machining operation and deactivates it during machining pauses. Alternatively or additionally, the tool head has an axial force element that generates an axial preload force between the spindle bearings.
