Method for producing a cam phaser and cam phaser
A method for producing a cam phaser for a cam shaft of an internal combustion engine, the cam phaser including a rotor, a stator and at least one cover, the method including arranging the at least one cover at the stator; and welding the at least one cover with the stator, wherein a first weld, a second weld and a third weld are formed at least on a large radius or on a small radius during the welding, and wherein the small radius is smaller than the large radius. The invention furthermore relates to a cam phaser for a cam shaft of an internal combustion engine, the cam phaser including a rotor; a stator and at least one cover.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR HEAT TREATING A WORKPIECE
A method of heat treating a workpiece, the method including projecting a laser beam from a laser source onto said workpiece, so as to produce a laser spot on said workpiece; projecting the laser spot onto different portions of said workpiece; and while projecting the laser spot, repetitively scanning the laser beam in two dimensions so as to produce a two-dimensional equivalent effective laser spot on said workpiece and thereby temper, reduce hardness of, enhance ductility of, and/or reduce brittleness of at least one of the different portions of the workpiece.
Method and system for laser hardening of a surface of a workpiece
A method of laser hardening of a surface area of a workpiece, such as a surface of a journal of a crankshaft, including the steps of generating a relative movement between the surface of the workpiece and a laser source to allow a laser spot to subsequently be projected onto different portions of the surface area, and during the relative movement, repetitively scanning the laser beam so as to produce a two-dimensional equivalent effective laser spot on the surface area. The energy distribution of the effective laser spot is adapted so that it is different in a more heat sensitive subarea, such as in an area adjacent to an oil lubrication opening, than in a less heat sensitive subarea, so as to prevent overheating of the more heat sensitive subarea.
Propshaft assembly having yoke friction welded to propshaft tube
A propshaft assembly that includes a propshaft tube and a weld yoke. The propshaft tube has a wall member. The weld yoke has a yoke body with an annular outer surface and an annular inner surface. The propshaft tube is welded to the yoke body such that a portion of the propshaft tube is disposed radially between the annular outer and inner surfaces and embedded into an axial end of the yoke body.
Shifting gate arrangement and method for the production thereof
A shifting gate arrangement, and a method of production thereof, having shifting gates, which are adjustable in a spatial direction, for actuating connecting rod adjustment provisions, which are integrated in connecting rods, for the purpose of changing the length of the respective connecting rod. A sheet metal support frame is mounted so as to be displaceable to and fro in the one spatial direction. The shifting gates are fixedly connected to the support frame and are designed as a cast part or sintered part.
Method and system for laser hardening of a surface of a workplace
A method of laser hardening a surface area of a workpiece, such as a surface of a journal of a crankshaft, includes the step of: generating a relative movement between the surface of the workpiece and a laser source to allow a laser spot to subsequently be projected onto different portions of said surface area. The method also includes the step of repetitively scanning the laser beam so as to produce a two-dimensional equivalent effective laser spot on said surface area, during the relative movement. The scanning pattern can include at least three substantially parallel lines which the laser spot follows in a certain order. When the workpiece includes several journals having different widths, two laser sources may be used to harden the surface area of the wider journals.
Method for producing a sintered part having a highly precise molded part height and parts set of sintered joining parts
The invention relates to a method for producing a sintered part having a highly precise molded part height, the sintered part being produced from a first sintered joining part that has a first joining surface and a second sintered joining part that has at least a second joining surface. The method comprises at least the following steps: joining the first sintered joining part and the second sintered joining part, the first joining surface being oriented such that it faces the second joining surface; pressing the first sintered joining part and the second sintered joining part against each other under axial compression pressure exerted by a pressing tool, the highly precise molded part height being brought about by pressing the parts against each other; removing the sintered part from the pressing tool as a sintered part having a highly precise molded part height. The invention also relates to a parts set of sintered joining parts.
Resistance brazing for a shaft balancing system
A method and a system of balancing a shaft for an axle assembly. The method may include using an electrical resistance welder to weld a balance weight to a shaft proximate an imbalance location using an insert or brazing material. The insert material may have a lower liquidus temperature than a liquidus temperatures of the shaft and balancing weight.
