ALUMINIUM ALLOY MULTI-LAYERED BRAZING SHEET MATERIAL FOR FLUXFREE BRAZING
Described herein is an aluminium alloy multi-layered brazing sheet product for brazing in an inert-gas atmosphere without a flux, comprising a core layer made of a 3xxx alloy comprising 0.20-0.75 wt. % Mg, and provided with a covering clad layer comprising 2-5 wt. % Si on one or both sides of said 3xxx alloy core layer and a Al—Si brazing clad layer comprising 7-13 wt. % Si positioned between the 3xxx alloy core layer and the covering clad layer, wherein the covering clad layer has a thickness X.sub.1 and the Al—Si brazing clad layer has a thickness X.sub.2 and wherein X.sub.2≥2X.sub.1. The invention further relates to the use of an aluminium alloy multi-layered brazing sheet product in a fluxfree controlled atmosphere brazing (CAB) operation to produce a heat exchanger apparatus.
Lead-Free Solder Ball
A lead-free solder ball is provided which suppresses interfacial peeling in a bonding interface of a solder ball, fusion defects which develop between the solder ball and solder paste, and which can be used both with Ni electrodes plated with Au or the like and Cu electrodes having a water-soluble preflux applied atop Cu. The lead-free solder ball for electrodes of BGAs or CSPs consists of 1.6-2.9 mass % of Ag, 0.7-0.8 mass % of Cu, 0.05-0.08 mass % of Ni, and a remainder of Sn. It has excellent resistance to thermal fatigue and to drop impacts regardless of the type of electrodes of a printed circuit board to which it is bonded, which are Cu electrodes or Ni electrodes having Au plating or Au/Pd plating as surface treatment.
LEAD-FREE SOLDER ALLOY
Provided is a lead-free solder alloy that has excellent tensile strength and ductility, does not deform after heat cycles, and does not crack. The In and Bi content are optimized and the Sb and Ni content are adjusted. As a result, this solder alloy has an alloy composition including, by mass, 1.0 to 7.0% of In, 1.5 to 5.5% of Bi, 1.0 to 4.0% of Ag, 0.01 to 0.2% of Ni, and 0.01 to 0.15% of Sb, with the remainder made up by Sn.
High-temperature superconducting striated tape combinations
This disclosure teaches methods for making high-temperature superconducting striated tape combinations and the product high-temperature superconducting striated tape combinations. This disclosure describes an efficient and scalable method for aligning and bonding two superimposed high-temperature superconducting (HTS) filamentary tapes to form a single integrated tape structure. This invention aligns a bottom and top HTS tape with a thin intervening insulator layer with microscopic precision, and electrically connects the two sets of tape filaments with each other. The insulating layer also reinforces adhesion of the top and bottom tapes, mitigating mechanical stress at the electrical connections. The ability of this method to precisely align separate tapes to form a single tape structure makes it compatible with a reel-to-reel production process.
METHOD FOR STEP-SOLDERING
A method for step-soldering includes applying a first solder alloy having a melting point in a temperature range from 160 to 210° C. to a jointed portion of a first electronic component and a substrate, and heating them in the temperature range from 160 to 210° C., and applying a second solder alloy having the melting point in a temperature range lower than 160° C. to a joint portion of a second electronic component and the substrate, and heating them in the temperature range lower than 160° C. The first solder alloy consists of 13-22 mass % of In, 0.5-2.8 mass % of Ag, 0.5-5.0 mass % of Bi, 0.002-0.05 mass % of Ni and a balance Sn.
Wire manufactured by additive manufacturing methods
Systems and methods for the manufacture of a solid wire using additive manufacturing techniques are disclosed. In one embodiment, a fine powdery material is sintered or melted or soldered or metallurgically bonded onto a metal strip substrate in a compacted solid form or a near-net shape (e.g., a near-net solid wire shape) before being turned into a final product through forming or drawing dies.
Brazing compositions and uses thereof
Described herein are compositions for use in the brazing of metal substrates. Methods of making and using these compositions are also described herein.
LOW MELTING NICKEL-MANGANESE-SILICON BASED BRAZE FILLER METALS FOR HEAT EXCHANGER APPLICATIONS
Ni—Mn—Si based braze filler alloys or metals which may be nickel-rich, manganese-rich, or silicon-rich braze filler alloys, have unexpectedly narrow melting temperature ranges, low solidus and low liquidus temperatures, as determined by Differential Scanning calorimetry (DSC), while exhibiting good wetting, and spreading, without deleterious significant boride formation into the base metal, and can be brazed at lower temperatures. The nickel rich alloys contain 58 wt % to 70 wt % nickel, the manganese-rich alloys contain 55 wt % to 62 wt % manganese, and the silicon-rich alloys contain 25 wt % to 29 wt % silicon. Copper with or without boron to partly replace nickel may be employed without any substantial increase of the melting point, or to reduce the melting point. The braze filler alloys have sufficient brazability to withstand high temperature conditions for thin-walled aeronautical and other heat exchangers.
Hollow pipe-sandwiching metal plate and applications thereof
Disclosed is a method for forming a hollow pipe-sandwiching metal plate and applications thereof. The hollow pipe-sandwiching metal plate comprises a first panel, a second panel, and multiple hollow pipes between the first panel and the second panel; gaps are arranged among the hollow pipes, and the hollow pipes are connected to the first panel and the second panel by brazing. The present disclosure further includes the applications of the hollow pipe-sandwiching metal plate. The hollow pipe-sandwiching metal plate has advantages, such as light weight, high strength, low stress, high temperature resistance, pressure bearing, thermal insulation and vibration isolation. The metal plate will not deform due to thermal difference, thereby providing permanent service life of the metal plate.
COMPOSITE SOLDER BALLS METALLISED ON THE SURFACE AND CALIBRATED FOR THE ASSEMBLY OF ELECTRONIC BOARDS
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing composite solder balls that are metallized on the surface and calibrated, these balls comprising a core consisting of a spherical support particle of diameter Do made of expanded polystyrene and having an intergranular porosity of at least 50%, and a shell covering said support particle and formed by a plurality of metallic surface layers. The present invention also relates to balls that can be obtained by the method according to the invention, as well as to the use thereof for the assembly of electronic boards.
