Power tool angle assist
Power tool methods and systems are provided for aligning a power tool to implement an angled cut in a workpiece. The power tool includes a first distance sensor and a second distance sensor. The power tool measures a first distance to the workpiece with the first distance sensor and a second distance to the workpiece with the second distance sensor. The power tool calculates an angle between the power tool and the workpiece based on the first and second distances, and indicates the angle via an angle output indicator of the power tool. The power tool may measure an angle between the power tool and the workpiece using a proximate edge and a distal edge of the workpiece, and indicate whether the power tool maintains a correct angle as it traverses a cut through the workpiece from the proximate edge to the distal edge.
Universal tram
A universal tram is provided for aligning machine tools. The universal tram includes a slide rail, featuring a rail along its length, to which a clamping coupler attaches. In turn, the clamping coupler attaches to the indicator holder. The indicator holder is configured to hold an indicator. The slide rail is configured for direct attachment to horizontal and vertical milling machines, for example. Optionally, the universal tram also includes a machine adapter and adapter plate. The machine adapter serves as a base block for positioning a measurement or tramming device on a machine tool to which the slide rail does not directly attach—a horizontal or vertical lathe, for example. The adapter plate allows for the height of the machine adapter to be adjusted by an amount corresponding to the thickness of the adapter plate. Further, a method of using the universal tram is also provided.

MEASURING STEADY REST FOR SUPPORTING AND MEASURING CENTRAL WORKPIECE REGIONS GRINDING MACHINE WITH SUCH A MEASURING STEADY REST, AND METHOD FOR SUPPORTING AND MEASURING CENTRAL WORKPIECE REGIONS
The present invention relates to a measuring steady rest which has a device for supporting central workpiece regions, in particular, bearing points on shaft parts, in particular crankshafts, and a measurement device integrated therein for directly adjusting the measurement of the workpiece regions before and/or during machining of the shaft parts. The measuring steady rest is preferably designed in the form of a prism, the measurement device being arranged on the bottom of the prism between the lateral flanks of the prism. The present invention further relates to a grinding machine comprising such a measuring steady rest, and to a method for supporting and measuring central workpiece regions on such a grinding machine comprising such a measuring steady rest.
WORK PROCESSING METHOD, SPINDLE ANGLE CORRECTION DEVICE, AND COMPLEX LATHE
A first speed and a second speed slower than the first speed are set as a contact speed when a work w and a detection jig t attached to a tool post are brought into contact with each other to detect a position or a posture of the work w, the work and the detection jig are brought into contact with each other at the first speed, the detection jig and the work contacting each other are separated from each other by a predetermined distance, the work and the detection jig which are separated from each other are brought into contact with each other at the same position at the second speed, and a correction value δ is obtained based on a tool post position or a spindle angle during the second contact.
Positioning aid for a core drilling machine
A positioning aid is disclosed for a core drilling machine, having a core drill for creating a hollow-cylindrical drill hole. The positioning aid includes a light source for creating a centring pattern on a workpiece. The positioning aid is fastened in a releasable and centered manner to the core drilling machine. The positioning aid may include a laser pointer, which is releasably fastened to a centring pin.
METHOD FOR ADJUSTING AN INLET GUIDE OF A PEELING MACHINE AND PEELING MACHINE
A method for adjusting an inlet guide of a peeling machine controls a peeling material using the inlet guide in relation to a peeling head carrying peeling tools in such a way that the volume per unit length of the peeling material, which volume is to be machined by the peeling machine, is minimized while producing a bright steel having excellent surface quality. Furthermore, a peeling machine provides appropriate measuring equipment in order to be able to carry out the method described above.

CONTACT DETECTION METHOD
A control device acquires first detection values related to control of a motor at a plurality of positions on a first path by moving an object or a tool along the first path with the object and the tool prevented from coming into contact with each other, acquires second detection values related to the control of the motor at a plurality of positions on a second path substantially parallel to the first path by moving the object or the tool along the second path to bring the object and the tool into contact with each other, derives a difference value between the first detection value and the second detection value acquired at each of corresponding positions on the first path and the second path, and detects contact between the tool and the object based on changes in the difference values derived for the plurality of positions.
