DEVICE FOR AXIAL DISPLACEMENT OF A HOLE SAW FOR A HAND-HELD DRILL
20230051583 · 2023-02-16 · ·

A device is for an axial displacement of a hole saw for a hand-held drill, wherein the hole saw is coupled to the drill by a drive shaft, and the hole saw and an actuator are rotatably connected and positioned in a housing with a coupling for the drill. The actuator has an outer threaded portion which corresponds to an inner threaded portion in the housing so that the actuator and the hole saw are displaced axially along the drive shaft when the actuator rotates relative to the housing. The actuator is connected to the drive shaft via a slip clutch arranged to transfer and reduce a reduced torque from the drive shaft to the actuator.

A machine tool (10) for machining workpieces (18) has a main spindle (12) which carries a tool holder (14) at its end and is mounted in such a way that it can rotate about an axis of rotation (22) and can move along the axis of rotation (22). A preferably electromagnetic feed device (32) is also provided, which exerts a force (FZ) acting along the axis of rotation s on the main spindle (12). A screw gear (52), which connects a drive (20) for driving the main spindle to the main spindle (12), drives the main spindle (12) in rotation and simultaneously moves it along the axis of rotation (22). The screw-and-nut gearing (52) has a thread (64, 66a, 66b) formed on a first component (54) and a cam (70a, 70b) formed on a second component (12) that cooperates with the thread (64, 66a, 66b). One of the two components (54) is rotated by the drive (20) via a drive gear (57) and is immovably mounted along the axis of rotation (22). The other of the two components is the main spindle (12).

Railroad Track Rail Drill

A rail drill drive train can include a common drive end between a single drive motor and a common gear. A speed train end can extend from the common gear to rotate the drill spindle. A feed train end can independently extend from the common gear to advance and retract the drill spindle. The speed train end can include a sprag gear so that, without unmeshing any gears, the drill spindle is not unnecessarily rotated in the reverse direction when the drive motor is reversed to retract the drill spindle. A rail drill control circuit and related sensors can enable automatic operation throughout the complete drilling cycle without any manual input from the user other than starting the cycle. Such a fully automatic drilling cycle can minimize overall cycle time to preserve battery life and can free the user to perform other tasks between drill moving and clamping operations.

A machining centre comprising a machining plane; a subtractive unit for performing chip removal on a workpiece positioned on the machining plane; the subtractive unit comprising a first carriage that is slidable parallel to an operating axis; an additive unit arranged to perform machining by additive production techniques on the machining plane; the additive unit comprising a second carriage that is slidable along the operating axis. The additive unit is provided with a first coupling portion and said subtractive unit is provided with a second coupling portion couplable with the first coupling portion. In one step, the subtractive unit adopts a pick-up configuration in which the first coupling portion is coupled with the second coupling portion to connect the subtractive unit to the additive unit at least along the operating axis. In the pick-up configuration, the subtractive unit, connected to the additive unit, is configured to move the additive unit.
