The sharpener comprises a receiving region comprising a chain support that can receive a chain-saw chain of the above-mentioned type, a driving means allowing a preferably automatically regulated horizontal translation, forwards and in stages, of said chain-saw received in the receiving region, a sharpener means arranged so as to sharpen the cutting teeth at different sharpening angles, after each translation of a chain-saw chain, and a means for planing the depth gauge of a cutting tooth, the planing means and the sharpening means each comprising a flat file and a round file which are detachably secured in a file carrier.
