A glove body, a barrier, and an abrasive layer form a flexible device that fits over the hand of user to perform complex operations on intricate or detailed objects using a variety of interchangeable attachments. The glove body includes a palm portion, a plurality of finger portions, and a thumb portion. The finger portions and the thumb portion extend from the palm portion to form a continuous inner surface. The inner surface is covered by the barrier and is coextensive with the working layer. The barrier is permanently attached to the glove body on one surface. The working layer is releasably attached to the opposite surface of the barrier. The barrier is permanently attached to the glove body with a permanent adhesive or through sewing. The working layer is releasably attached to the barrier through a releasable adhesive or through a hook and loop fastener elements.

A sanding device for sanding a workpiece. The sanding device includes a sanding block. The sanding block includes a right triangular block having a triangular base and a rectangular block having a rectangular base. The rectangular block may be affixed to a side surface of the right triangular block. The sanding block includes sanding block base surfaces having the triangular base abutting the rectangular base along a straight edge. The sanding block base surfaces include an abrasive surface and an engagement surface opposite the abrasive surface. The engagement surface includes a hand-shaped recess extending from the engagement surface towards the abrasive surface. The hand-shaped recess includes a thumb-shaped recess in the triangular base of the engagement surface and at least one non-thumb-shaped recess in the rectangular base of the engagement surface.

A sanding device for sanding a workpiece. The sanding device includes a sanding block. The sanding block includes a right triangular block having a triangular base and a rectangular block having a rectangular base. The rectangular block may be affixed to a side surface of the right triangular block. The sanding block includes sanding block base surfaces having the triangular base abutting the rectangular base along a straight edge. The sanding block base surfaces include an abrasive surface and an engagement surface opposite the abrasive surface. The engagement surface includes a hand-shaped recess extending from the engagement surface towards the abrasive surface. The hand-shaped recess includes a thumb-shaped recess in the triangular base of the engagement surface and at least one non-thumb-shaped recess in the rectangular base of the engagement surface.

The present invention is directed to a novel sanding system for sculptures. The sanding system comprising a glove body and grit coating applied to different portions of the outer surface area of the glove body.

A sanding glove including: a glove body fabricated from a base layer of material, wherein the glove body includes a hand opening, a backing, a palm, a thumb compartment, an index finger compartment, a middle finger compartment, a ring finger compartment and a small finger compartment, wherein each of the finger compartments include palm sides, back sides and fingertip ends; a first strip of hook fastener material attached to the palm side of the thumb compartment; second, third, fourth, and fifth strips of hook fastener materials attached to the palm side of the index finger, the middle finger, the ring finger, and the small finger compartments; and wherein a loop backed sanding pad of any desired shape can be attached to at least one of the strips of hook fastener material to facilitate sanding.

A glove and sandpaper assembly for performing sanding work while wearing a glove includes a glove which has a plurality of fingers and a thumb which can be worn on a user's hand. A first mating unit is attached to the glove and the first mating unit extends along each of the plurality of fingers and the thumb. A sheet of sandpaper has a plurality of peninsulas each extending away from a central portion of the sheet of sandpaper. A second mating unit is bonded to the sheet of sandpaper and the second mating unit is releasably matable to the first mating unit. In this way the sandpaper is attached to the glove to facilitate the user to perform sanding work while wearing the glove.

A device for filing and/or abrading the multiple surfaces and/or edges of an object end so that they are less sharp, rough, dangerous, or so that they better conform to a desired shape. Embodiments of the device may comprise filing surfaces for filing the multiple object surfaces and/or edges thereof without requiring substantial repositioning of either the device or the object with surfaces and/or edges being filed. Moreover, embodiments of the device may be useful for filing sets of both the inner and outer object surfaces and/or edges thereof without requiring substantial repositioning of either the device or the object, and therefore in a more efficient and less dangerous manner. It is anticipated that some embodiments may comprise filing surfaces arranged in a manner configured to file the surfaces and/or edges of a strut end.
