Clamping Unit
A clamping unit (1) for clamping a workpiece, with an electric drive, and a gearbox unit having an arrangement of rolling elements (9). The gearbox unit is used to convert a rotary motion of an actuating element into a translational motion. By means of translational motions of the actuating element, clamping elements (5) can be moved into a clamping position in which a workpiece is clamped with clamping elements (5), and into a release position in which clamping elements (5) release the workpiece.

ELECTRIC VISE
A power vise including a body and a jaw connected to and extending from the vise body. The vise can also include an actuator extending at least partially through the jaw body, where the actuator can include a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The vise can include a moving jaw connected to the first end of the actuator. The vise can include a motor connected to the second end of the actuator, where the motor can be operable to move the actuator to move the moving jaw with respect to the fixed jaw, including a hammering or impacting function, and that such hammering or impacting can be performed after a predetermined delay. The vise can include a sensor configured to produce a signal based on a condition of the vise and to control the vise at least in part on using that signal.
Workpiece holder device and method for mounting a workpiece in a workpiece holding device
A workpiece holder device for workpieces to be machined on multiple sides, wherein the workpiece can be held axially and radially relative to the first axis between a first workpiece holder, operatively connected to at least one support spindle of the workpiece holder device and rotatable about the first axis, and at least one second workpiece holder, operatively connected to at least one drive spindle of the workpiece holder device and rotatable about the first axis, by force locking by means of a clamping force which can be built up in the manner of a vice between the first workpiece holder and the second workpiece holder in the axial direction of the first axis and acting on the opposite sides of the workpiece.

A clamping device (1) for holding a workpiece (10), in particular a cutting tool, during machining in a grinding machine, wherein peripheral grinding of the workpiece (10) is performed by means of a particularly approximately cup-shaped grinding wheel, wherein the clamping device (1) comprises a support unit (40) provided to be mounted on the grinding machine, a clamping unit (20) comprising a clamping anvil (12) supported in a clamping anvil holding element (22) and translationally drivable to apply a clamping force parallel to a clamping axis (16), and a drive unit (30) comprising a drive anvil (14) supported in a drive axis (18) and rotationally drivable for rotary orientating the workpiece (10) by means of the drive axis (18). The clamping unit (20) and the drive unit (30) are provided as individual components, which are releasably or slidably attached to the support unit (40) to form a workpiece spindle headstock of the grinding machine.

With electrically operated clamping or gripping devices such as vices, it is necessary to switch them off after clamping the workpiece in order to prevent overheating. Machining by means of a machining robot, for example, is able to commence only once a safe torque off signal is present. However, the workpiece can become loose due to vibrations during such machining, since the de-energized electric motor can no longer perform retightening. This can lead to damage to the workpiece and, in the worst case, injuries to operating personnel. It is therefore the object of the invention to propose a solution for enabling retightening to be performed from an energy accumulator.
This is achieved in that the drive shaft of the motor can be extended via a threaded spindle, thereby preloading the energy accumulator. This makes effective retightening of the clamping or gripping device possible, particularly when using a steep-threaded spindle.
