Steam powered nailing gun

The present invention relates to a steam powered nailing gun. In certain embodiments, the steam powered nailing gun includes a handle, a casing, a high pressure water pump, a piston mechanism, a nailing gun base, and a nail magazine. The piston mechanism is connected to the casing. One end of the piston mechanism is connected to the high pressure water pump, and another end is connected to nailing gun base. The nail magazine is disposed at a position corresponding to piston mechanism on the nailing gun base. A phase transition thermal storage device and a steam power generator are positioned inside casing having steam power generator inside phase transition thermal storage device. The steam power generator is connected to high pressure water pump and piston mechanism. The high pressure water pump is further connected to a water supply device 11 on the handle through a second water supply pipe.

A hand-held linear fastener driving tool such as a nailer includes a multi-piston gas spring driver mechanism that includes a piston assembly disposed in a gas cylinder. The piston assembly includes an accumulator piston, a striker piston disposed between the accumulator piston and an open end of the cylinder, and a blade that protrudes from the striker piston. The accumulator piston and the striker piston each form a fluid tight seal with the cylinder inner surface. The piston assembly includes a fluid column that extends between the accumulator piston and the striker piston. A gas storage chamber is disposed between the accumulator piston and the closed end. The piston assembly moves as a unit within the cylinder during tool operation.

Certain embodiments described herein are directed to devices which can be used to safely secure two or more workpieces to each other, e.g., to secure a cabinet face frame to a cabinet frame. In some examples, the device comprises a base configured to engage a first surface of the first workpiece and to receive an attachment device. The base can also be configured to engage a first surface of a second workpiece. The device may also comprise piston means configured to engage the second workpiece at a second surface. The device may comprise one or more plungers that can be used to actuate the attachment device to permit fastening of the workpieces once properly arranged. Methods of using the device are also described.

IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO PRESSURE RESPONSE OF HIGH PRESSURE FLUID VALVING, APPARATUS AND METHODS THEREFOR

Disclosed is a system, method and apparatus operating on a high-pressure working fluid with high efficiency. The device has a reservoir of high-pressure working fluid. A fluid connection supplies the high-pressure working fluid at a controlled working pressure to a dose chamber to contain a volume of the high-pressure working fluid. A dose valve, biased to close, and able to be triggered open, is present between the dose chamber and a working chamber. A charge of the high pressure working fluid can be released from the dose chamber via the dose valve at a first end of the working chamber, to undergo a first expansion in the working chamber and do work therein to or towards a second end of the working chamber distal from the first end. The dose valve closes again before a pressure front of the charge in the working chamber has travelled less than or equal to halfway between the first end and the second end. This allows a second expansion of the charge to continue doing work. When the work is complete, the working chamber pressure is less than or equal to half the working pressure.
