POWER-ASSISTED FOLDING KNIFE
The present invention provides a power-assisted folding knife, including: a blade holder; a blade arranged in the blade holder; a handle rotatably connected to the blade holder; a locking mechanism for locking the blade holder in an unfolded position and/or a folded position; the power-assisted folding knife further includes a power-assisting mechanism connected to the blade holder and the handle, for providing assisting power when unfolding a power-assisted folding knife. The power-assisted folding knife in the present invention uses an assisting mechanism for providing assisting power when unfolding a folding knife, so as to facilitate easier unfolding of the folding knife and to allow single hand operation; the blade holder can be locked in an unfolded position and/or a folded position to ensure safe use of the power-assisted folding knife.
Folding knife
A folding knife including a handle with a liner block with two parallel liners, defining a storage space between them. A blade pivotably mounted on the liner block with a pivoting axis engaged through the base of the blade and mounted on the liner block so that the blade can pivot between an inactive position, in which the blade is received in the storage space in the liner block, and an active position, in which the blade extends in line with the handle. A blade lock capable of blocking the blade in the active position.
LOCKING FOLDABLE KNIFE WITH DOUBLE LOCKING MECHANISM
A locking foldable knife comprises a locking assembly that reliably locks a blade in an extended and folded position. The locking assembly utilizes the surface area of a shaped peripheral edge at a second end of a blade, together with, confirming structures of a locking bar, and one or more stops to reliably lock a blade in an extended position. The locking foldable knife may be doubly secured with a switch lock that prevents inadvertent unlocking.
KNIFE WITH SAFETY LOCK
A knife includes a handle defining a slot having a first portion and a second portion, a blade coupled to the handle, and a locking assembly configured to secure the blade within the handle. The locking assembly includes a lock button configured to translate between a first position proximate the first portion of the slot and a second position proximate the second portion of the slot, wherein a spindle is configured to translate within the slot, and a spring arm configured to bias the lock button, wherein the spring arm biases the lock button towards the first position while the spindle is within the first portion of the slot and biases the lock button towards the second position while the spindle is within the second portion of the slot.
Folding knife
A folding knife includes a handle, a first liner inside the handle, and a second liner inside the handle and opposed to tire first liner. A blade has a tang and a cutting edge, and the tang of the blade pivotally connects the blade between the first and second liners. The blade has a retracted position in which the cutting edge is inside the handle and a deployed position in which the cutting edge is outside the handle. An actuator is at least partially between the first and second liners. A screw inside the handle has a first end opposed to a second end. The first end of the screw is engaged with the first liner, and the second end of the screw is threadingly engaged with the second liner.
LOCKABLE TOOL WITH SLIDING SCALE RELEASE
A lockable tool with a sliding scale release is formed with a frame and a tool coupled to the frame with a locking mechanism to lock the tool into an extended or retracted configuration. A release mechanism is attached to a scale on the side of the frame. The scale is coupled to the frame. The tool is constructed such that sliding the scale along a longitudinal axis of the frame automatically unlocks the tool from the extended or retracted configurations. The tool can open and/or close automatically. The tool, such as a knife, can swing open or extend out a front opening in the frame.
Lever link mechanism for a folding knife
An ambidexterous, springless folding knife mechanism allows a user to open and close the knife with the repetition of a single motion by either hand. This knife does not require any spring to open or retract the blade back into the handle. A lever link couples the knife handle and the knife blade in a hinged manner. Slight modifications of the mechanism will permit the blade to be opened to a variety of angles depending on the positioning of the mechanism during the initial design. Such modification would allows application of the mechanism to other folding hand tools. In the preferred embodiment, the open and closed position of the blade does not require the blade to travel a full 180 degrees but locks the blade in a substantially straight position for use. The mechanism allows knife operation by those with handicaps or dexterity issues.
THUMB STUD INCLUDING TRITIUM
A thumb stud for a folding knife assembly includes a body extending between a first end and a second end. A hollow passage extends between the ends, and a tritium vial is disposed within the hollow passage and extends between the first and second ends. A first lens is disposed within the hollow passage adjacent the first end and a second lens is disposed within the hollow passage adjacent the second end. The first and second lenses encapsulate the tritium vial within the hollow passage of the body and allow illumination produced by the tritium vial to be viewable through the first and second lenses to illuminate the thumb stud. In an alternative arrangement, the tritium vial can be replaced with a wafer which houses the tritium vial. In this arrangement, a pair of wafers are each disposed adjacent respective lenses at respective ends of the body.
Knife with ambidextrous actuators and locking mechanism
A folding knife has ambidextrously accessible trigger mechanism for releasing the blade from its open and locked position so that it may be moved to the closed position, and when the knife is fitted with an automatic opening mechanism, for releasing the blade from its closed and locked position to the open and locked position. When the blade reaches the open position a novel locking mechanism securely locks the blade open. The trigger mechanism comprises a button on each side of the knife handle. The user may fire the automatic opening mechanism by depressing either the right or left hand trigger button, or both simultaneously. The release mechanism may be incorporated in an auto-assist or manual knife. The locking mechanisms described herein may be incorporated into a manual opening knife or a knife with an auto-assist opening mechanism and in all cases, the knife incorporates a locking mechanism that locks the blade open in a highly secure manner.
KNIFE WITH INTEGRAL SEALED POWER SOURCE
A folding knife is provided with a power storage device that can be charged and recharged by a charge component that wirelessly receives power from a remote source. In some embodiments, the folding knife can have a device that consumes energy such as a light, a camera, a microphone, an audio speaker, a display, etc. The power storage device and the charge component can be positioned in a scale of the handle where the substantially planar shapes of the scale, the power storage device, and the charge component are oriented in a common direction. In some embodiments, the cavities, recesses, and channels in the first scale that house these components and linking wires are strategically positioned to leave a reinforcing area that provides strength and stiffness to the handle. Various features also described improve safety of the charging system and provide connectivity with external computing systems and electronic devices.
