Vacuum Knife Tool
Cutting of a material, such as a textile or film, can damage the material. A tool is provided that utilizes vacuum pressure near a knife edge to increase a result of the cut. The vacuum pressure passes through a base portion of the tool that has a recessed portion effective to distribute vacuum pressure to one or more apertures extending around an insert of a core portion. The one or more apertures align with a void between the knife edge and the insert allowing for the void to transmit the vacuum pressure through the tool to the knife edge. A machine horn may then cut the material at the knife edge and couple the material with another material.
PUNCH AND DRAW STUD HAVING MULTI-START THREADS, AND METHOD OF ENGAGING SAME
A punch according to some embodiments of the disclosure includes a body having a punching edge and a wall forming a passageway therethrough, the wall having a multi-start thread formed thereon, and a draw stud according to some embodiments of the disclosure includes an elongated cylinder having a multi-start thread thereon which is configured to be coupled to the multi-start thread of the punch. The number of starts provided on the punch corresponds to the number of starts provided on the draw stud. The multi-start thread on the punch is engaged with the multi-start thread on the draw stud in use. A method using same to punch a hole in sheet metal is also provided.

HAND PROTECTOR
A hand protector is disclosed that comprises flexible planar base in the general shape of an oversized palm of a person's hand. Five spaced apertures are provided towards edges of the planar base in positions that correspond to five fingers of the hand, the apertures sized to permit the fingers of the hand to be inserted therethrough to support the planar base against a palm of the hand. One or more of the apertures have cover flaps, each cover flap movable between a first position in which it generally extends in a plane of the base, and a second position in which it extends away from the plane of the base and abuts a base of the finger when a finger is inserted through the aperture.
