Sawmill
A portable sawmill which has an elongate central portion, at least one hinged foldable extension portion, laminated rails, detachable axle/wheel combinations, a tow bar, and adjustable legs. Spacers are received between each rail and the respective support structure for both the central portion and the extension portion, including one spacer a first portion of which is disposed between and attached to each rail and support structure of one of the central portion and the extension portion and a second portion of which is slidingly receivable between each rail and support structure of the other of the central portion and the extension portion as the extension is unfolded for use. A pull cable, when an actuation lever is engaged, effects pivotal movement of a cam to which another pull cable is attached for actuating the engine throttle for cutting wood. At least one other pull cable or other actuation member is attached to the cam to actuate at least one other device upon the actuation of the throttle.

Sawing Facility And Method For Sawing A Sawing Material
A sawing facility includes a rail guide, a saw arranged on the rail guide, a first carriage arranged on one side of the saw along the rail guide, and a second carriage arranged on the other side of the saw along the rail guide. The first carriage includes a first saw log support and a first carriage drive that can move the first carriage together with a first saw log on the rail guide and past the saw to saw the first saw log. The second carriage includes a second saw log support and a second carriage drive that can move the second carriage together with the second saw log on the rail guide and past the saw to saw the second saw log. The second saw log is loaded onto the second saw log support while the first saw log is sawed using the first carriage.

PORTABLE SAWMILL
A portable sawmill has an elongate central portion, at least one hinged foldable extension portion, laminated rails, and a tow bar. An elongate tubular axle retaining member is mounted to the base. A pair of torsion axles, to which wheels and tires are attached, are received telescopically in opposite ends respectively of the axle retaining member and detachably attached thereto. A plurality of legs are attached to the base. The legs are height-adjustable to raise the base to a height such that the tires are raised above the ground so that the axles with the attached wheels may be removed.

SAWMILL WITH A ROCKING CARRIAGE
A sawmill for tree logs includes a rocking carriage to pick up fresh logs and feed them into the path of a saw blade, as well further provisions relating to improvements to infeed systems for the fresh logs, as well as to, outflow systems for transfer of sawn-off product to a production line conveyor or the like for further processing to downline processes after the first saw cuts on the fresh logs.

Porous bearing for a band saw, a band saw and a method of operating a band saw
Provided are a porous media bearing for a band saw, a band saw for cutting cant and a method of cutting cant using the band saw. The band saw has a continuous loop blade supported by a drive wheel and first and second support arms having porous media bearings. A location of a blade cutting section, an angle of the blade in relation to the cant being cut, and tension on the blade can be adjusted by moving the first and second support arms.
Process systems and methods for cutting true with a bandsaw
Systems and methods for improved bandsaw process control and throughput, in which a sawblade of a bandsaw contacts a bottom sawguide mounted in a bottom guide holder, the bottom guide holder frame having a flexural member that transmits forces on the sawguide to a force transducer associated with the flexural member. Workpiece-related forces include deflection forces, both lateral and torsional, and saw resistance forces on the bottom sawguide. An object of the invention is to establish a true cut condition when pre-straining the sawblade and a process control loop whereby the true cut condition is restored in near real time while cutting a workpiece. The combination of a force sensing guide holder and a process control loop synergically improves target lumber size control and maximizes log value, while also increasing throughput by reducing both overfeed and underfeed.
