Tipped Saw Blade
20230020592 · 2023-01-19 · ·

A tipped saw blade includes a disc-shaped base metal and a plurality of tips. Each tip has an edge selected from a flat edge, a left beveled edge, and a right beveled edge. The tips are positioned circumferentially adjacent each other about a radially outer periphery of the base metal. Each flat edge includes a cutting edge that is oriented parallel to a thickness direction of the base metal. Each left beveled edge and each right beveled edge include a corresponding cutting edge that is inclined with respect to the thickness direction of the base metal. Cutting edge line lengths correspond to the lengths at which the cutting edges come in contact with a workpiece when cutting a workpiece. The cutting edges have the following relationship: (sum of cutting edge line lengths of the plurality of beveled edges)≤[((cutting edge line length of one of the flat edges)−(kerf thickness+1.5))×(number of the plurality of flat edges)×1.2].

TIP SAW

A tip saw has disk-shaped and comprises cutting blade pieces, support pieces, and a base metal. The cutting blade pieces are disposed at blade edges of the tip saw. The support pieces are disposed between adjoining two of the cutting blade pieces. The cutting blade pieces and the support pieces are configured to be thicker than a thickness D1 of the base metal of the tip saw (D2>D1). The support pieces have a thickness equal to or nearly equal to the thickness D2 of the cutting blade pieces (D3=D2 or D3≈D2). Consequently, the width of a cut groove Pc formed on a work material by the cutting blade pieces can be maintained wider than the thickness D1 of the base metal of the tip saw by the support pieces without increasing the number of the cutting blade pieces of the tip saw.

Splitter profiler

In various embodiments, a splitter profiler apparatus may include at least one profiler head and at least one circular saw mounted to a common arbor. The circular saw may be mounted to a saw arm, and the saw arm may be coupled with an actuator that is selectively operable to move the circular saw along the arbor. The circular saw may be used in a profiling position, in which the circular saw and profiler head are in close proximity, such that the profiler head and circular saw function collectively to form a sideboard edge with a sawn finish. The circular saw may also be used in a splitting position, in which the circular saw is at a distance from the profiler, to divide the sideboard into narrower sideboards before the sideboards are sawn from the primary workpiece. Corresponding methods and systems are also described herein.

CUTTING ELEMENTS AND PROCESS OF OBTAINING A RETRACTOR IN A CUTTING ELEMENT

A cutting element is described which promotes the removal of material through friction, such as saw blades, cutting tools applied to milling machines, among others, said cutting element having retractors formed by the deposition of metal and/or carbides on the surface of said cutting element, replacing the conventionally used hard metal insert.

Circular saw blade

The present disclosure is directed towards an Improved Circular Saw Blade for simultaneous and combination cutting and chamfering a workpiece comprising a modified circular saw blade configured as a primary cutter to be mounted to one end of an arbor shaft rotatable on an axis. The modified circular saw blade comprises a plurality of substantially identical slots spaced circumferentially and extending radially inward towards the center. A modified chamfer tool is then configured as a secondary cutter to be aligned and mounted coaxially behind the primary cutter on the arbor shaft. The modified chamfer tool comprises angularly disposed peripheral chamfer blades mounted in the slots of the primary cutter so as to be displaceable transversely to the longitudinal axis of the modified circular saw blade. During manufacturing operations the peripheral chamfer blades of the secondary cutter are configured to follow the path of the primary cutter for simultaneously cutting and chamfering of the workpiece to a certain desired length and angle, respectively.
