A WOOD CHIPPER
A chipper includes a hopper and a chipper unit. The hopper is configured to receive vegetative debris via an inlet end. The chipper unit has an outer casing and an inlet passing therethrough. The inlet of the chipper unit is connected to the outlet end of the hopper to in use receive the vegetative debris within the outer casing. The chipper unit includes a cutter located which is configured to chip vegetative debris. The hopper and the outer casing are configured so that the hopper and outer casing can be moved between a position where the hopper is substantially vertical and a position where the hopper is substantially horizontal.
Flywheel for a wood chipper and process for making thereof
A wood chipper which includes a chamber having a flywheel and which includes a wood in-feed system. The in-feed system includes a bin inclined for gravity-feeding wood product to the chamber and a cylindrical anvil disposed between an outlet of the bin and the flywheel. The flywheel includes a plurality of plates laminated together with fasteners. First and second ones of the plates have aligned first and second openings respectively for passage of chips. The second opening has a tab which extends from an edge thereof partially into the first opening. A knife is attached to the tab and supports a blade outwardly of the first plate and thus outwardly of the flywheel. A system is provided for providing water mist onto wood product only as it is being fed down the in-feed bin.
Stump grinder chip pickup chute device and collection system
A stump grinder chip pickup chute device and collection system structured and/or configured to capture and control chips cut from a stump by a stump grinding/cutting wheel and to redirect the chips to a desired target chip collection location.
In-feed roller for a wood chipper and method of making thereof
An in-feed roller for a wood chipper and a process of making thereof. The roller has seven, eight, or nine perimetric planar sides. It is made by providing a plurality of curved plates equal to the number of sides and a pair of end plates having a plurality of perimetric edges equal to the number of sides. Each curved plate has a side portion for extending between respective edges of the end plates, a knife portion, and a junction portion at the junction of the side portion and the knife portion. First tab and slot connections attach the side portions of the curved plates to the edges of the end plates respectively. Second tab and slot connections attach the terminal edges of the side portions of the curved plates to the junction portions of adjacent curved plates respectively.
DEBARKING APPARATUS WITH LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE DEBRIS DISCHARGE
A plunger assembly for mounting adjacent to a vertical opening of a debarking chain flail apparatus. The plunger assembly comprises first and second opposed mounting members which are securable to an undersurface thereof, and each one of mounting members defines a generally C-shaped recess. First and second plunger rails are interconnected via a plunger body, and the plunger body comprising opposed left side and right side plunging side surfaces. The first plunger rail is captively received within and guided by the first mounting frame while the second plunger rail is captively received within and guided by the second mounting frame. A first hydraulic cylinder interconnects the first mounting frame with the first plunger rail while a second hydraulic cylinder interconnects the second mounting frame with the second plunger rail to facilitate plunging in two opposed directions. The mounting frame may be mounted to the apparatus by a pair of plunger cradle and associated cradle hydraulic cylinders.
Load-indicative alarm
A load-indicative alarm system alerts an operator as to a load. The load-indicative alarm system includes a load-measuring device, a controller, and an alerting device. The load-measuring device for provides a load indication. The controller determines a load level by acquiring the first load indication from the load-measuring device. The alerting device is configured to alert the operator. The controller is configured to instruct the alerting device to alert the operator if the current load level is above a minimum threshold. The alerting device provides a load-indicative alert that informs the operator of the load level being above the minimum threshold.
METHOD OF MAKING ROLLER
A method of making an in-feed roller for a wood chipper. The roller has seven, eight, or nine perimetric planar sides. It is made by providing a pair of end plates having a plurality of perimetric edges equal to the number of sides and a plurality of other plates equal to the number of sides. Each of the other plates has a first portion for extending between respective edges of the end plates and a second portion extending radially outwardly of the roller and terminating in a cutting blade. A junction or junction portion is defined between the first and second portions. Each of the end plate edges is provided with at least one first tab extending therefrom. The first portion of each of the other plates is provided with at least one first slot in each of ends thereof. Each junction is provided with at least one second slot therein. The first portion of each of the other plates has an edge opposite the junction, and the edge of the first portion of each of the other plates is provided with at least one second tab extending therefrom. The first tabs are inserted into the first slots respectively. The second tabs are inserted into the second slots respectively.
Flywheel and paddle assembly for a chipping or shredding apparatus, and an apparatus incorporating same
A flywheel and paddle assembly for a chipping or shredding apparatus, including a wood chipper, a brush chipper, and a leaf shredder. The assembly has a flywheel attached coaxially to a drive shaft. The flywheel has at least one aperture extending from the front side to the back side, and carries at least one knife adjacent to the at least one aperture. The knife presents a knife edge on the front side of the flywheel. A paddle is rotatably mounted coaxially to the drive shaft adjacent to the back side of the flywheel. The paddle is configured to rotate on the drive shaft independently of the flywheel. A chipping or shredding apparatus incorporating the aforesaid flywheel and paddle assembly is also disclosed.
WOOD CHIPPER
A wood chipper comprising a chamber in which wood is chipped, at least one roller for feeding of the wood into the chamber, and an hydraulic motor. Hydraulic lines flow connect a hydrostatic pump to the hydraulic motor for effecting rotation of the at least one roller for driving the at least one roller. A member on the wood chipper has splined projections for engaging splined projections on a member on the tractor to effect rotation by the member on the tractor of the member on the wood chipper in order for the wood chipper to receive mechanical power from a power take-off of the tractor for operation of the hydrostatic pump.
Wood chipper with more effective in-feed rollers
A wood chipper comprising a chamber in which wood is chipped, and a pair of rollers for feeding of the wood into the chamber. One of the rollers is a smooth roller and may or may not be an idle roller, and an other of the rollers is driven and has cutting elements thereon. One or more pressurized gas springs are attached to the rollers to apply a predetermined pressure to the rollers to cause the cutting elements to bite into the wood fed between the rollers. The cutting elements are blades each of which is un-notched in a direction radially of the other roller and each of which extends over substantially the entire length of the other roller.
