Curing chamber for building materials
A chamber (1) for hardening building materials comprises sheet metal elements which are insulated from one another and are built on a base plate (5) and which form walls (2) and a ceiling (3). The chamber can be manufactured and operated inexpensively and is suitable both as a curing chamber for concrete blocks and for building materials cured with CO.sub.2. To this end, it is proposed that the walls (2) and/or ceiling (3) consist of self-supporting, double-walled sheet metal elements (4) connected to one another in an essentially gas-tight manner, and that the double-walled sheet metal elements (4) of the supply and/or discharge and distribution a gaseous hardening medium from outside the chamber (1) into its interior.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BACK END CONTROL OF TRANSLATION AND ROTATION OF A GREEN WARE
Disclosed herein is a method and apparatus for back end control of translation and rotation of green ware (e.g., producible from ceramic extrudate). A green ware handling system (102) includes a back end assembly (129) that contacts a back end face (118B) of a green ware (116) and moves to push the green ware (116) along the support channel (114). In certain embodiments, the green ware handling assembly (102) includes a leading end assembly (128) to pull the green ware (116) and then transfer control to the back end assembly (129), which translates and also optionally rotates the green ware (116). This handoff increases the overall production rate of the green ware (116). In certain embodiments, the back end assembly (129) penetrates the back end face (118B) of the green ware (116) with cleat penetration features (312) to provide a secure engagement with the green ware (116) to rotate and translate the green ware (116) while also decreasing a depth of damage to the green ware (116).
Manufacturing method of honeycomb structure and transfer pallet
A manufacturing method of a honeycomb structure, including a vertical extrusion process, wherein the vertical extrusion process includes: an extrusion step of extruding the molding compound in the vertically downward direction from an extrusion die attached to an extruder; a honeycomb formed body receiving step in which a transfer pallet is placed at a position near the extrusion die, and a honeycomb formed body formed by continuously extruding the molding compound in the extrusion step is received and supported from below by the transfer pallet; and a pallet lowering step of lowering the transfer pallet while receiving and supporting the honeycomb formed body in synchronization with an extrusion speed of the molding compound from the extrusion die, and the transfer pallet is constituted of a laminate structure including: a pallet substrate; and a tabular mesh plate.
Device for storing objects, in particular for curing objects made of concrete, under defined temperature conditions and humidity conditions
The invention relates to a device for storing objects under defined temperature conditions and humidity conditions. In particular, the invention relates to a device for curing objects made of concrete. The device has a shelving system having a plurality of shelf supports and a plurality of bearing elements for supporting shelves supported on the shelf supports and arranged one above the other in a plurality of levels, on which shelves the objects are stored. According to the invention, a flow pipe system for distributing supply air provided in a climate system is at least partially integrated into the shelving system. A plurality of shelf supports in this case are at least in sections at the same time downward pipelines of the flow pipe system that the provided supply air is able to flow through. As a result, condensation at the foot of the shelving system and thus corrosion is counteracted at the shelf supports, thus increasing the service life of the shelving system.
Material processing systems
Material processing systems are disclosed. Some systems include methods of eliminating or reducing defects in elongate workpieces that can undergo large deformations during processing. Some systems include apparatus configured to facilitate such large deformations while maintaining internal stresses (e.g., tensile stresses) below a threshold stress. Some disclosed systems pertain to powder extrusion techniques. Continuous and batch processing systems are disclosed.
Bricks and method of forming bricks with high coal ash content using a press mold machine and variable firing trays
There is provided an apparatus and process for manufacturing a brick or paver with a high content of coal ash (ranging from 60% to 100% coal ash or fly ash) so that a waste product (coal ash, and more particularly Class F coal ash) from a coal-fired power plant is incorporated into a building product (high content fly ash brick or paver). Also provided is a variable firing tray to support the dried, high content coal ash bricks/pavers as the dried products are sent through a tunnel kiln, to improve circulation around the individual bricks/pavers and thereby result in reduced firing time in the kiln.
MANUFACTURING METHOD OF HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE
The manufacturing method of the honeycomb structure includes a mounting step of mounting an extruded honeycomb formed body on a firing setter disposed on a shelf plate, and a firing step of firing the honeycomb formed body mounted on the firing setter to form the honeycomb structure, and in the mounting step, the firing setter is used in which a value obtained by dividing an area of a formed body end face of the honeycomb formed body by an area of a honeycomb mounting surface of the firing setter which faces the formed body end face and at least a part of which comes in contact with the formed body end face is in a range of 2.5 to 20.0.
Rapid forming of glass and ceramics
A method for finishing a glass or ceramic article includes applying a force to the glass or ceramic article. The force is applied to the glass or ceramic article at least when the glass or ceramic article is at a temperature that is greater than or equal to a creep temperature of the glass or ceramic article. Holding the force to the glass or ceramic article as the glass or ceramic article is cooled to a temperature that is less than the creep temperature of the glass or ceramic article.
Method of producing honeycomb green body or fired article, bearer and method of producing the same
A bearer for bearing a honeycomb green body includes a solid main body provided with a groove in which a concave arc surface extends along one direction; and a single-layer or multi-layer sponge layer attached to the arc surface of the groove. The sponge layer is curved along the arc surface of the groove and has a bearing surface curved along the arc surface.
Ceramic Filter And Manufacturing Method Therefor
In order to enable stable provision of an upward release tube-type ceramic filter used in a molten metal bath and having a side wall with a height of 300 mm or greater, this method for manufacturing a ceramic filter, which is an upward release tube-type integrally molded article for removing unwanted substances from molten metal, has: a step for kneading a mixture of an aggregate comprising ceramic particles, a prescribed binding agent, and water to prepare a base material; a step for integrally forming an upward release tube-type ceramic filter precursor from the prepared base material; step for drying the precursor; a step for providing a retainer for the dried precursor for supporting a side wall of the precursor; a step for subsequently sintering the precursor; and a step for removing the retainer after sintering.
