PIPE FORMING APPARATUS
20230085379 · 2023-03-16 ·

According to the present invention, there is provided a pipe forming apparatus for forming a pipe at an installation site. The apparatus includes a former upon which material is wound, and a mold for receiving the former bearing the wound material. An applicator is provided for applying curable liquid within the mold. Advantageously, the pipe is formed at site to provide for efficient formation of a pipeline. A transported ISO container providing the material and curable liquid to the site can produce 800 metres of pipeline section, compared with 60 metres in the prior art, representing a significant increase in efficiency.

HYPERSPECTRAL OPTICAL ELEMENT FOR MONOLITHIC DETECTORS

A hyperspectral optical element for monolithic detectors is provided. In one embodiment, for example a hyperspectral optical element includes a faceplate layer adapted to be mounted on top of a monolithic detector. The faceplate layer comprises a reflective inner surface. A notched layer includes a plurality of notched surfaces and is mounted to the faceplate layer. The notched surfaces oppose the reflective inner surface of the faceplate and define a plurality of variable depth cavities between the reflective inner surface of the faceplate layer and the plurality of notched surfaces of the notched layer. The faceplate layer and the notched layer are substantially transparent to a received signal and the plurality of variable depth cavities provides resonant cavities for one or more wavelengths of the received signal.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REHABILITATING A HOST PIPE
20220228357 · 2022-07-21 ·

A system for in situ rehabilitation of a corrugated culvert or other conduit includes a support frame coupled to an inner surface of the culvert. The support frame provides attachment points that are spaced away from the inner surface of the culvert. An assembly of interconnected longitudinal planks is coupled to the support frame and forms a liner within the culvert. Each longitudinal plank has an inwardly facing surface that forms a portion of an inner surface of the liner and an outwardly facing surface opposite the inwardly facing surface. At least one longitudinal protrusion extends away from the outwardly facing surface of each longitudinal plank. A layer of a cured cementitious grout material fills or substantially fills a space between the inner surface of the host pipe and the plurality of interconnected planks, and the at least one longitudinal protrusion of each longitudinal plank is embedded within the cured cementitious grout material.

Method of making ceramic composite bearings

A method for forming a ceramic matrix composite bearing includes preparing a layup slurry from a mixture of water, pre-ceramic polymer and refractory filler. The method further includes forming a concentric stack of slurry-impregnated fabric sleeve layers over a rod-shaped inner mold and applying an outer mold to form a mold assembly. The method also includes heating the mold assembly to form a tubular green body and rough cutting the green body to bearing length. In addition, the method includes heat-treating the bearing and performing a polymer infiltration and pyrolysis treatment. The method further includes conducting dimensional stability treatment processes on the bearing and final grinding and machining to meet pre-determined specifications.

Method and System For Making Long SIC Tubes

A method for casting a preform part for reaction bonding, the method comprising coating an inner surface of a mold and a mandrel surface with release layers. An assembled mold is formed from the mold and the mandrel and a preform cake is formed by pouring a slurry into a mold cavity and letting it settle. Thermally removing the release layers aids in removing the mandrel and removing the preform cake after pyrolyzing.
