METHOD FOR PRODUCING A STABILIZER COMPOSITION, AND STABILIZER COMPOSITION PRODUCED USING SAID METHOD
A method for producing a stabilizer composition for a polymer and a stabilizer composition produced by the method. At least one carboxylic acid is reacted with at least one metal compound, such as at least one metal hydroxide and/or at least one metal oxide and/or at least one metal carbonate, thereby forming a metal carboxylate of the carboxylic acid. The reaction of the carboxylic acid with the metal compound is carried out in a continuous manner in an extruder while reaction water being formed is discharged out of the extruder.
MALEIMIDE-BASED COPOLYMER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND RESIN COMPOSITION OBTAINED USING SAME
The present invention provides a maleimide-based copolymer, a method for producing same, and a resin composition obtained using same.
This maleimide-based copolymer contains 40-60 mass % of aromatic vinyl monomer units, 5-20 mass % of vinyl cyanide monomer units, and 35-50 mass % of maleimide monomer units, and is such that a 4 mass % tetrahydrofuran solution of the copolymer has a transmittance of 90% or more for light having a wavelength of 450 nm at an optical path length of 10 mm, and the residual maleimide-based monomer amount is less than 300 ppm. This maleimide-based copolymer preferably further contains 0-10 mass % of unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride monomer units, and preferably has a glass transition temperature of 165° C. or higher.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING BULK MATERIAL
A processing system for bulk material comprises a processing device for the bulk material, at least one bulk material storage container for storing the bulk material, a bulk material dosing device connected to the at least one bulk material storage container for dosed discharge of the bulk material from the bulk material storage container, a bulk material downcomer connected to the bulk material dosing device for conveying the bulk material into the processing device, at least one additive feed for feeding an additive, an additive dosing device connected to the at least one additive feed for dosed discharge of the additive from the additive feed, and an additive downcomer connected to the additive dosing device for conveying the additive into the processing device, wherein the bulk material downcomer directly connects the bulk material dosing device to the processing device.
Kneading apparatus with first and second extruders
A kneading apparatus includes a processor, and a extruder. The extruder includes a screw. The screw includes a screw main body. A conveyance portion, a barrier portion, and a path are provided at places of the screw main body. In at least one of the places, the path is provided inside the screw main body, and includes an entrance and an exit. The raw materials, pressure on which is increased by the barrier portion, flow in from the entrance. The raw materials flowing in from the entrance flow through the path toward the exit. The exit is positioned to be remote from the entrance in an axial direction.
Single-shaft extruder and use of a single-shaft extruder, and method for altering morphology of a superabsorbent polymer, specifically an SAP polymer gel, using a single-shaft extruder
A single-screw extruder for changing a morphology of superabsorbent polymer gel. The single-screw extruder has an input aperture, a channel, a screw and an output aperture. The screw in the invention has a first pitch value of a pitch of the screw flights along the conveying zone of the channel and, following in conveying direction, has a second pitch value of the pitch of the screw flights along the conveying zone of the channel, where the second pitch value is smaller than the first pitch value.
Process for making pressure-sensitive adhesive and duct tape
A continuous process for making a pressure-sensitive adhesive is disclosed. A mixture comprising natural rubber having a Mooney viscosity of 85 to 100, a tackifier, a filler, and 0.1 to 5 wt. % of an added C.sub.12-C.sub.24 fatty acid based on the amount of mixture is masticated in a first section of a single- or twin-screw extruder. Mastication of the mixture continues in at least one subsequent extruder section in the presence of additional tackifier. The product is a homogeneous, reduced-viscosity pressure-sensitive adhesive. The minor proportion of added C.sub.12-C.sub.24 fatty acid aids mastication of the rubber and enables high throughput without addition of peptizers. Duct tapes made from the adhesives display improved adhesion to steel, better adhesion bond strength, and enhanced seven-day clean removability from even difficult substrates such as marble or ceramic tile.
