Blown-Form Identification in a Blown Film System
The invention relates to a blown film system for producing a film tube made of plastics material, comprising: an annular nozzle, out of which a plastic melt having a closed cross-section can be brought; a take-up device, by means of which the plastic melt can be drawn up from the direction of the annular nozzle so as to form the film tube; an air-provision device, which is downstream of the annular nozzle when viewed in the transport direction of the film tube and by means of which an amount of air can be provided; and a calibration device, which is downstream of the annular nozzle when viewed in the transport direction of the film tube and surrounds the film tube and by means of which the outer circumference of the film tube can be delimited. At least one detector is contained that has a plurality of detection elements, by means of which electromagnetic radiation emitted or reflected at various points of the film tube can be detected, such that at least one planar region and/or contoured region of the film tube can be detected with regard to characteristic properties, wherein the detector comprises at least 32 detection elements.
Method and apparatus for forming uncured rubber component
A method for forming an uncured rubber component, the method includes conveying an uncured extruded rubber strip extruded continuously from an extruder using a conveyor, the conveyor including a first conveyor and a second conveyor located at a downstream side of the first conveyor in a convey direction, the step of conveying including shrinking the uncured extruded rubber strip, wherein the step of shrinking is such that the uncured extruded rubber strip, in a relaxed state of a U-shaped manner, passes through fluid held in a tank between the first conveyor and the second conveyor without being restrained so that the uncured extruded rubber strip shrinks freely while receiving buoyancy from the fluid, and cutting the uncured extruded rubber strip in a predetermined length to form an uncured rubber component, after the step of shrinking.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR BLOWN FILM THICKNESS MEASUREMENT
Methods and systems of measurement for blown film lines are provided. The sensing system includes a terahertz (THz) sensor positioned adjacent to a film bubble extruded from a blown film die, and a sensor support configured to guide the THz sensor around the circumference of the film bubble to measure its film thickness.
Apparatus for producing pellet and method for producing pellet
The present invention aims to provide a method for producing a pellet and an apparatus for producing a pellet, including a conveyor belt that conveys a strand formed by melting a composition containing a thermoplastic resin and an additive and then ejecting the molten composition from a feeder, a liquid-spraying device spraying a liquid toward the strand conveyed, a gas-blowing device blowing a gas toward the strand conveyed, a strand cutter cutting the strand conveyed into a pellet, the liquid-spraying device, the gas-blowing device, and the strand cutter being disposed in this order in the conveying direction of the strand, a measurement device measuring a surface temperature of the strand, the measurement device being disposed upstream of the strand cutter in the conveying direction, and an adjustment mechanism adjusting driving of at least one of the liquid-spraying device and the gas-blowing device in accordance with the surface temperature measured.
System and method for reducing draw resonance in plants for the production of plastic film
A system and method for reducing draw resonance of a plastic material in molten state, so-called melt, leaving an extrusion group of a plant for the production of plastic film, includes at least one thermostatically-controlled cylinder, having an embracement angle of the melt on the cylinder that is adjustable on the basis of the process rate, i.e., the linear movement speed of the plastic film, and/or on the basis of the temperature measured in the proximity of or in correspondence with the clamping area of the melt in a thermoforming, calibration and cooling group included in the plant and positioned downstream of the system.
A METHOD FOR MEASURING THE CROSS-LINKING DEGREE OF A COMPONENT OF ELASTOMERIC MATERIAL
A method for measuring a degree of cross-linking of a component of elastomeric material obtained as a result of a hot-forming process, includes a preliminary calibration step in which a plurality of samples are provided, made of the same material as the component. The samples have different degrees of cross-linking following respective hot-forming processes conducted for different periods of time. The preliminary calibration step includes providing a measuring device having an electrical circuit, in which a voltage generator is arranged in series with metal contacts configured to selectively receive a sample, and an ammeter, positioning a sample between said metal contacts, providing a predetermined voltage value, and detecting the corresponding current value by means of said ammeter. The aforesaid steps are repeated for each sample so as to obtain a calibration map that associates a given degree of cross-linking of the material constituting said component with each determined value of electrical conductivity.

METHODS OF IN-LINE EXTRUDATE INSPECTION AND FEEDBACK CONTROL FOR HONEYCOMB BODY MANUFACTURE
In-line inspection and control system to in-situ monitor an extrudate during extrusion. A light beam illuminates a line on the outside circumference of the extrudate skin recording the curvature. A master profile of the illuminated defect-free skin is recorded and compared to successive monitoring of the illuminated skin. Differences from the comparison indicate skin and/or shape defects. A real-time feedback to automatically adjust process control hardware reduces or eliminates the skin and shape defects based on the monitoring and comparison.
