Apparatus for producing plastic containers has a heating device having a transport device for transporting the plastic preforms singly along a predefined transport path. The transport device has a plurality of holding devices for holding the plastic preforms, and at least one heating unit for heating the plastic preforms, wherein furthermore a rotating device is provided which rotates the plastic preforms held by the holding devices and is connected to a forming device, which transforms the plastic preforms transported by the heating device into plastic containers. The apparatus has an alignment device which enables alignment of the rotational position of the plastic preforms with respect to their longitudinal direction relative to the holding devices holding these plastic preforms and/or the apparatus has a rotational position alignment device arranged along the transport path which enables alignment of a rotational position of the holding devices with the plastic preforms arranged thereon.

Multi-barrier bottles having tabbed preforms, as well as methods of forming the same are disclosed. A tabbed preform includes an elongate body extending into a cavity of a first barrier, where the cavity is defined by at least one piece having a recess therein. The tabbed preform further includes at least one preform extension piece extending from the elongate body at a predetermined distance from a top surface of the elongate body. The at least one preform extension piece is sized and shaped to correspond to a size and a shape of the recess.

A resin container manufacturing method includes: forming a first pattern on a preform of a resin container; and forming a second pattern on the preform based on a position of the first pattern on the preform.

Multi-barrier bottles having tabbed preforms, as well as methods of forming the same are disclosed. A tabbed preform includes an elongate body extending into a cavity of a first barrier, where the cavity is defined by at least one piece having a recess therein. The tabbed preform further includes at least one preform extension piece extending from the elongate body at a predetermined distance from a top surface of the elongate body. The at least one preform extension piece is sized and shaped to correspond to a size and a shape of the recess.

A synthetic resin preform has a cylindrical mouth portion provided with a male thread on an outer peripheral surface, a cylindrical body portion continuous with the mouth portion and a bottom portion configured to close a lower end of the body portion, the preform being formed into a container of a predetermined shape by blow molding, the synthetic resin preform further including, between the mouth portion and the body portion, a holding surface continuous with the outer peripheral surface of the mouth portion and extending radially inward relative to the outer peripheral surface. Also, a container contains contents having a container filled with contents and configured to close the mouth portion with a cap, the container being formed by blow molding the preform.

A method for heating a preform that is rotationally symmetric about its longitudinal axis, has a standard thread, and is made of a thermoplastic material. During heating, the preform is temperature conditioned to be formed into a container having a non-circular cross-section transverse to a longitudinal axis of the container by blow-molding. The preform is provided with a temperature profile along a circumference of the preform such that areas of the preform are differentially heated in a radial direction of the circumference of the preform. The standard thread of the preform is aligned in a predefined target position before the areas of the preform are differentially heated. The preform is rotated into alignment. An alignment element engages in the standard thread of the preform and thereby prevents further rotation of the preform as soon as the alignment element comes in contact with a predetermined contact surface in the standard thread.
