METHOD OF PRODUCING INJECTION MOLDED ARTICLES
Injection molded articles and methods of making injection molded articles. The methods include the use of a first plasticizing unit and a second plasticizing unit on a common frame feeding a first mold and a second mold on the common frame. Separating the production of each part of a two-part article into separate plasticizers and molds allows for the tuning of production parameters on a per-part basis, improving part flatness and part-to-part weight variance.
Vacuum insulation structures with multiple insulators
A refrigerator cabinet is provided. The refrigerator cabinet includes an inner liner and an external wrapper. The inner liner is positioned within the external wrapper such that a gap is defined between the external wrapper and inner liner. A first insulator is positioned within the gap, and a second insulator is positioned within the gap. A pressure within the gap is below about 1000 Pa.
MULTIPLE IN-MOLD ELECTRONICS STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Disclosed herein is an in-mold electronics (IME) structure. The IME structure includes a film, a first plastic resin positioned under the film, and a second plastic resin positioned under the first plastic resin. An electronic circuit is formed on a top or bottom surface of the second plastic resin by a plating method and also electronic elements are mounted thereon. The electronic elements include LED light sources, a plurality of protruding light guides configured to guide lighting through distribution and direction is formed on the top surface of the second plastic resin, and the LED light sources are installed in respective spaces provided by the light guides.
Cuboctahedron Lattice Materials
A method for the design, manufacture, and assembly of modular lattice structures composed of cuboctahedron unit cells.
Active grille, scalable design
An active grille shutter arrangement having an assembled modular frame with a plurality of primary frame pieces formed by extrusion. Each one of the plurality of primary frame pieces has a first end, a second end and at least one key slot extending between the first end and the second end. Each of the plurality of frame pieces also includes a hollow bore extending through the each one of the plurality of primary frame pieces forming an aperture at the first end and an aperture at the second end. When the modular frame is assembled there is an upper frame portion and lower frame portion, both formed from one of the plurality of primary frame pieces. The arrangement also includes a number of alternate frame and vane pieces that allow several different active grille shapes and configurations to be formed.
Method of producing assembled product and assembling apparatus
An assembling apparatus that has a mold in which a second unit opposes a first unit and that is configured to assemble an assembled product from a plurality of parts. The first unit includes first, second, and third movable portions, which comprise, respectively, a plurality of first forming portions, a plurality of second forming portions, and a plurality of third forming. The second unit comprises a fourth movable portion, a fourth forming portion, a fifth forming portion, a sixth forming portion, and a plurality of assembling portions. The fourth movable portion is configured to move so as to switch at least one assembling portion opposed to at least one first forming portion, at least one other assembling portion opposed to the at least one second forming portion, and at least one remaining assembling portion opposed to at least one third forming portion.
Method for discrete assembly of cuboctahedron lattice materials
A method for the design, manufacture, and assembly of modular lattice structures composed of cuboctahedron unit cells.
Method of performing droplet-based assays
Method of analysis. In the method, a first emulsion and a second emulsion substantially separated from one another by a spacer fluid may be formed. The first emulsion, the spacer fluid, and the second emulsion may be flowed in a channel from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet of a heating and cooling station having two or more temperature-controlled zones, such that each emulsion is thermally cycled to promote amplification of a nucleic acid target in droplets of the emulsion. Amplification data may be collected from individual droplets of each emulsion downstream of the heating and cooling station. A level of the nucleic acid target present in each emulsion may be determined based on the amplification data collected from the individual droplets of the emulsion.
MOLD FOR MOLDING AN ARTICLE IN TWO MATERIALS
Mold including a first shell having a cavity, a second shell having a projection, and an intermediate shell having a projection suitable for being coupled in the cavity of the first shell and a cavity suitable for being coupled with the projection of the second shell. The second shell includes a first injection channel extending from an inlet hole in a side wall of the second shell to an outlet hole in the projection of the second shell. The intermediate shell has a second injection channel extending from an inlet hole in a side wall of the intermediate shell to an outlet hole in the projection of the intermediate shell.
Droplet-based assay system
System for performing a flow-based assay. The system may comprise a droplet generator to produce an emulsion including droplets in a carrier fluid. The system also may comprise a thermocycler including two or more temperature-controlled zones and also including a channel connected to the droplet generator for receiving the emulsion. The channel may form a single-pass continuous fluid route traversing the temperature-controlled zones multiple times, such that droplets passing through the channel are thermally cycled. The system further may comprise a detection station downstream from the thermocycler and configured to detect a signal from the droplets after such droplets have been thermally cycled by passing through the channel.
