A process of overmolding a frame of a portable eyewear electronic device and a frame produced by the process is presented. A frame that includes a first material and includes a releasably mountable feature is attached to the mold in a desired position and does not contact other areas of the mold. The mold is filled with a second material to at least partially encase the frame insert.

A toothbrush head, including at least one two-component cleaning element and at least one bristle tuft element, is produced by injection molding. To achieve high design flexibility regarding the arrangement of the two-component cleaning elements and regarding the material choice, the two-component cleaning elements are manufactured separately or in an upstream molding step. A manufacturing method for a trim element, which includes the following steps: supplying a mold in an open configuration which has a first mold part and a second mold part; positioning a first pre-formed decoration against the first mold part; positioning a wedge in contact with an edge of the first decoration; positioning a second flexible décor; closing the mold in a closed configuration, where the second decoration sits between the two mold parts; and back-injecting a substrate into the molding cavity, where the second decoration is pushed by the substrate against the first decoration. A system and method for forming a seal member onto a substrate from a material is disclosed. The system includes a mold comprising an ultraviolet transmissible material, the mold having a first portion and a second portion operatively coupled to the first portion, the first portion having a first cavity, a second cavity, and a channel extending from an outer surface of the mold to the second cavity. The first cavity has a first shape that is complementary to a first side of the substrate and the second cavity has a second shape that is complementary to the seal member. The system also includes an applicator in fluid communication with the channel, where the applicator is configured to provide the material to the second cavity through the channel, and an ultraviolet irradiation device configured to irradiate the mold with ultraviolet light to cure the material when the material is provided to the second cavity, such that the seal member is formed on the substrate.

An injection-molded component having a casing body of plastics material and a core which is made of a core material, in particular of a metal, which is at least partially received within the casing body and is at least partially insert-molded. The injection-molded component may in particular serve as a joint part of a joint. As a result of the preferably metallic core, the injection-molded component, despite comparatively small dimensioning, is capable of being comparatively highly stressed. By virtue of the casing body of plastics material, a minor actuation noise may be implemented for the joint, even without complex lubrication.

A new type of RFID tag is provided. A gaming chip that incorporates a sticker-type RFID tag comprises: an enclosing member having a predetermined shape for enclosing the RFID tag; a body member that is injection-molded to encapsulate the enclosing member with the RFID tag; and a gaming chip for amusement. The enclosing member consists of a first part and a second part, and at least the first part or the second part has a flat surface to which a sticker-type RFID tag can adhere, and the first part and the second part are combined to form an enclosing member, in which the sticker-type RFID tag is covered by the first part and the second part.
