An over-molded interior trim method and system are provided. In another aspect, a method of manufacturing a trim panel includes: injecting a liquid substrate polymer between molds to create a substrate, injecting a liquid urethane polymer into a cavity directly against the substrate to create a skin or cover, flowing or wrapping in a mold the urethane polymer around at least one peripheral edge of the substrate, and extending the urethane polymer onto a backside of the substrate.

A sunroof apparatus for a vehicle includes a first side frame and a second side frame disposed at opposing ends of the sunroof apparatus in a vehicle width direction, a frame unit including a main frame, a first sub frame, and a second sub frame, the frame unit connecting an end portion of the first side frame and an end portion of the second side frame in the vehicle width direction, a fixed panel covering the opening portion of the main frame, and a joint layer covering a rim of the fixed panel and joining the main frame and the fixed panel. The first side frame and the second side frame are connected with the first sub frame and the second sub frame in the vehicle front-rear direction, respectively.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COMPOSITE MOLDED ARTICLE AND COMPOSITE MOLDED ARTICLE
A composite molded article is manufactured in such a manner that a molding mold that forms a molding space by mold closing and has a weir portion projecting into the molding space is opened, a flat plate-like first member that is softened under heating is arranged in a part of a portion where the molding space is formed, the stereoscopic first molded portion is formed with mold closing, simultaneously an injected molten resin is filled in a remaining portion of the molding space around the first member outside the weir portion in a state that the weir portion is made to abut against a thin portion provided at a peripheral edge of the first molded portion, and the second molding portion joined to the first molding portion is formed by hardening molten resin after the resin is caused to contact the first molded portion.

An electromagnetic wave sensor cover includes a cover body. The cover body includes a base layer made of synthetic resin and permitting passage of an electromagnetic wave, one or more metal oxide layers permitting passage of the electromagnetic wave and being conductive, one or more low refractive index layers permitting passage of the electromagnetic wave and made of material that has a lower refractive index than material of the metal oxide layer, and two electrodes. The base layer includes a front surface and a rear surface in a transmission direction of the electromagnetic wave. The metal oxide layer and the low refractive index layer are laminated adjacent to each other in the transmission direction. A laminate of the metal oxide layer and the low refractive index layer is laminated on the front surface or the rear surface of the base layer.
LIQUID SHIM ADHESIVE INJECTION TOOL
A tool for installing a liquid shim material into a clearance formed between an assembly first and second component includes a body having a first end and a second end. The first end includes a planar surface and the second end includes a first surface and a second surface arranged at an angle to the first end and to one another. At least one hole is formed in the body. The at least one hole extends from the first end to the second end and is configured to provide a passageway through the body. The tool is arranged adjacent the assembled first and second component such that the passageway formed by the at least one hole is arranged in fluid communication with the clearance.
