Melt processing plant
A melt processing plant is provided that includes a melt charger for charging a processing head, in particular a pelletizing head, with melt, in which a diverter valve for discharging the melt during a starting and/or retooling phase is associated to the melt charger upstream of the processing head. A splitter divides the discharged melt into melt portions with the melt channels of the splitter head having at least one step-like cross-sectional enlargement of their inflow portion, a cross-sectional shape different from the outlet cross-section of the discharge channel, and an open orifice region out of the splitter.
CARBON FIBER COMPOSITE MATERIAL CONTAINING RECYCLED CARBON FIBERS, MOLDED BODY, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARBON FIBER COMPOSITE MATERIAL
Provided are a carbon fiber composite material having high strength and elasticity and containing recycled carbon fibers, and a method for producing same. When a raw material is transported along the outer circumferential surface of a screw main body 37 having a passage 88 therein, the transport of the raw material is restricted by a barrier portion 82 provided on the outer circumferential surface, a shearing force is applied to the raw material by the screw main body 37, and a stretching force is applied to the raw material by passing the raw material from the inlet 91 of the passage 88 provided on the outer circumferential surface to the outlet 92 of the passage 88, thereby obtaining a carbon fiber composite material having good strength and elasticity and containing 50-70 wt % of recycled carbon fibers well dispersed therein.
Extruder screw with alternately-arranged conveyance portions and extruders and extrusion methods using the extruder screw
A conveyance portion, a barrier portion, and a path are provided at places of a screw main body in which a kneading portion is provided. In at least one of the places, the path is provided inside the screw main body, and includes an entrance and an exit. The entrance is opened to urge the raw materials having the conveyance limited by the barrier portion to increase pressure on the raw materials, to flow in the entrance. The raw materials flowing from the entrance flow through the path in the same direction as a conveyance direction of the conveyance portion.
Process and device for introducing additive materials in a receptacle at the area of highest pressure
A method and a device for introducing and/or adding non-dry-powder additive materials and/or coating materials with a liquid, solid, semi-solid, or paste-like consistency or in suspended or emulsified form, for example, peroxides, fats, waxes, IV improvers, polymers, or similar materials, to an existing lumpy or particulate material which is moved and mixed, and optionally warmed and reduced to small pieces in a receptacle and/or compressor, said material being in particular polymer particles and/or flakes, wood fibers, paper cuttings, or similar materials. According to the invention, the additive material is introduced below the level of the material and/or material particles already in the receptacle.
Apparatus for extruding a coating around an electric conductor
Apparatus for the production of an electric conductor provided with at least a layer of coating plastic material. The apparatus comprises: a head for the extrusion of an electric conductor; at least a main extruder having a first supply duct; at least an auxiliary extruder having a second supply duct; and a device for the selection and the diversion of the flows of coating plastic material. The selection and diversion device is provided, in turn, with at least a device for the exclusion of the auxiliary extruder; with a bypass duct between the first duct and the second duct; and with a flow-regulating diverter valve arranged in the intersection point between the first supply duct and a bypass duct connecting the first duct to the second duct.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MONITORING MATERIAL PROPERTIES OF PLASTICS
The invention relates to a device and a method for inline quality checking for plastics during the production process, comprising at least two different measuring devices, wherein the device has a unit for sampling plastic melt from the production extruder, a unit for moulding a flat film from this plastic melt, and units for transporting the flat film to the measuring devices and for finishing the flat film.
SUPERCRITICAL FLUID-ASSISTED POLYMER EXTRUSION FOAMING DEVICE
An extrusion foaming device uses pressurized working fluid as a self-sealing medium between a foaming extruder and an extrusion screw transport section in a feed tube. Shaft diameter of the extrusion screw increases in a compression section such that material therein is compressed. Material from a foaming extruder is split between the compression and transport sections and a bypass valve connected to both sections allows adjustment of pressure in the compression section and the valve. Keeping pressure above saturation pressure of a dissolved supercritical fluid in the working fluid inhibits precipitation thereof and intrusion of precipitate into the extrusion section.

PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR INTRODUCING ADDITIVE MATERIALS IN A RECEPTACLE AT THE AREA OF HIGHEST PRESSURE
The invention relates to a method and a device for introducing and/or adding non-dry-powder additive materials and/or coating materials with a liquid, solid, semi-solid, or paste-like consistency or in suspended or emulsified form, for example, peroxides, fats, waxes, IV improvers, polymers, or similar materials, to an existing lumpy or particulate material which is moved and mixed, and optionally warmed and reduced to small pieces in a receptacle and/or compressor (1), said material being in particular polymer particles and/or flakes, wood fibers, paper cuttings, or similar materials. According to the invention, the additive material is introduced below the level of the material and/or material particles already in the receptacle (1).
