FILM AND PACKAGING MEMBER FOR THE FORMATION OF PACKAGES
A film or packaging member for forming a package comprising at least one body and at least one outer adhesive layer, wherein the body and adhesive layer are made of a polyolefin-based plastic, wherein at least the adhesive layer is fusible to be weld to a target surface, and wherein at least the adhesive layer comprises particles that absorb radiation to heat at least a portion of the packaging member.
FILM SECURING APPARATUS AND METHOD
Systems, apparatuses, and methods to secure a film to a container are provided. An example sealing device utilizes film from a supply of film to seal a lid onto a container. Various sizes of containers are usable with some example sealing devices. Additional features, such as printing on the film and piercing the film for ventilation and/or insertion of a straw are contemplated. One or more markings along the film may be utilized for confirming that an approved film has been loaded into the sealing device. In response, various components or features of the sealing device may be appropriately enabled or disabled. The one or more markings may also be utilized to convey data to the sealing device regarding the installed film, such as for improved operation thereof.

THROUGH TRANSMISSION CONNECTING DEVICE, CONNECTING METHOD USING THE DEVICE AS WELL AS RESULTING CONNECTION STRUCTURE
An inventive through transmission connecting device for connecting a first component made of a light absorbing material to a second component made of a light transmissive material by means of a light transmission bonding technology. The connecting device includes a first tool mounted to a first support retaining the first component and a second tool mounted to a second support retaining the second component. The first tool and the second tool are movable with respect to each other and the first tool is at least partly made of or includes a layer of a thermal isolator having a high thermal resistance.
Hollow body, process for manufacturing it and use thereof in a vehicle
A process for manufacturing a hollow body including a thermoplastic wall and a fibrous reinforcement welded on at least one portion of the surface of the wall, or its outer surface, the fibrous reinforcement including a thermoplastic similar to or compatible with that of the wall of the hollow body, having a thickness of at least 1 mm and from 30 to 60% in weight of fibers, the method including heating a portion of the outer surface of the hollow body where the reinforcement will be welded; heating the fibrous reinforcement to soften or melt the thermoplastic of the reinforcement; and moving the reinforcement and applying the reinforcement to the portion of the outer surface of the hollow body. The applying the reinforcement includes: applying an initial pressure on at least one portion of the reinforcement; and applying pressure for a final welding using robotized pressure applying mechanism.
Pattern element used for interconnecting components of a sporting good
The present invention relates to a method for interconnecting components of a sporting good, in particular a sports shoe, and a sports shoe manufactured with such a method. The method may include (a.) forming a pattern element having at least one removable at least partially non-transparent or non-reflective portion, (b.) irradiating at least one of the first and the second component via the pattern element with heat radiation and (c.) interconnecting the irradiated first and second component.
Method of joining additively manufactured components
A method for producing a component from two or more sub-components includes the steps of: producing each of the sub-components using an additive manufacturing process in which a resin, which is radiant-energy-curable, is partially cured using a selective application of radiant energy, wherein each sub-component includes a joint surface in which the resin is partially cured which is cured to a lesser degree than the remainder of the respective sub-component, so as to leave the joint surfaces in a condition suitable for bonding; assembling the sub-components with their respective joint surfaces in mutual contact; and performing a secondary cure of the partially-cured resin at the joint surfaces using an application of radiant energy, so as to further cure the partially-cured resin and bond the sub-components to each other, thereby forming the component.
Systems and methods for manufacturing a microfluidic rotor device
Described herein are various embodiments directed to rotor devices, methods, and systems. Embodiments of rotors disclosed herein may be used to characterize one or more analytes of a fluid. A method may include bonding a first layer and a second layer using two-shot injection molding. The first layer coupled to the second layer may collectively define a set of wells. The first layer may be substantially transparent. The second layer may define a channel. The second layer may be substantially absorbent to infrared radiation. A third layer may be bonded to the second layer using infrared radiation. The third layer may define an opening configured to receive a fluid. The third layer may be substantially transparent. The channel may establish a fluid communication path between the opening and the set of wells.
Reducing resin squeeze-out
Described herein are techniques for reducing resin squeeze-out including a method comprising receiving a first component and a second component, where the first component is configured to be joined to the second component at an overlap area using an adhesive layer to form a structure having a ledge. The method further comprises applying the adhesive layer to the overlap area on the first component. The method further comprises selectively curing a portion of the adhesive layer adjacent to the ledge. The method further comprises forming the structure by combining the first component, the second component, and the adhesive layer and curing a remainder of the adhesive layer.
Process for preparing construction articles with cured pressure-sensitive adhesives
An apparatus and related methods for constructing articles with cured pressure-sensitive adhesives comprising (i) a coater that applies a curable adhesive to a membrane; (ii) a cross-linking apparatus adapted to receive said membrane with said curable adhesive, said cross-linking apparatus comprising a light source positioned a first predetermined height above an aperture plate having an aperture therethrough, wherein said aperture plate is positioned a second predetermined height, said first predetermined height and said second predetermined height selected to define an exposure area of light emitted from said light source on to said curable adhesive to form a composite product; and (iii) a roll adapted to receive said composite product, said roll adapted to control a speed at which said membrane with said curable adhesive is exposed to light from said light source.
