Dissolvable adhesive liner label and methods of making and using same
A duplex label. The duplex label has a first face ply having a printable upper side and a lower side, and a second face ply having an upper side and a printable lower side. A layer of patterned adhesive is situated underneath the lower side of the first face ply. A displaceable liner coating comprising an enabler, a facilitator, and a stabilizer is formulated, and the layer of patterned adhesive is covered with the displaceable liner coating. The displaceable liner coating is activated by bringing the displaceable liner coating in contact with a fluid. The second face ply is secured to the first face ply using the activated displaceable liner coating such that the printable upper side faces away from the printable lower side. The first face ply is secured to the substrate, and the second face ply is sandwiched between the first face ply and the substrate.
Making and using an adhesive tape for wrapping an elongated object
A sheath for an elongated object is made by first combining an adhesive tape comprised of a substrate strip and a first adhesive coating at least partially covering the substrate strip with an adhesive-free band to form a laminate. Then the substrate strip and the band are overlapped at least largely such that, at the overlap, the first adhesive coating is between the substrate strip and the band. Finally the first adhesive coating is formed at the overlap between the substrate strip and the band of a plurality of spaced adhesive substrips.
CAUL PLATES FOR PREFORMS THAT UNDERGO PICK AND PLACEMENT
Systems and methods are provided for facilitating pick and placement of preforms. One embodiment is a method for picking and placing a preform. The method includes placing an inner surface of a first caul plate into contact with a first side of a stringer preform, such that an outer surface of the first caul plate forms a first plane that is uniform along a length of the stringer preform, placing an inner surface of a second caul plate into contact with a second side of the stringer preform, such that an outer surface of the second caul plate forms a second plane that is parallel to the first plane along a length of the stringer preform, grasping the caul plates at the first plane and the second plane along the length of the stringer preform, and lifting the stringer preform together with the caul plates while maintaining the grasp.
Duplex label with displaceable liner and methods of making and using same
Methods of making labels devoid of liner plies. A method of making a label for securement to a substrate comprises providing a face ply having a top side and a bottom side. The method includes disposing a hotmelt adhesive on the bottom side in a pattern. The method comprises formulating a liner coating configured to be activated by a fluid. The method includes disposing the liner coating on the bottom side outwardly adjacent the hotmelt adhesive. The bottom side is configured to be secured to a substrate via the hotmelt adhesive upon activation of the liner coating by the fluid.
Internal metallic tank assembly for honeycomb structural high-pressure set tank and a manufacturing process therefor
The present invention is directed to a new concept for an internal metallic tank of large-scale high-pressure gasholder in which pluralities of internal tanks have been accumulated like a honeycomb structure and for the manufacturing processes of the internal metallic tank.
Method for producing a structural component
A method for manufacturing a structural assembly comprising at least two assembly components interconnected by means of a thermoplastic plastics material, and useful in the field of aviation or space travel. First, a first assembly component and a second assembly component are provided and arranged so as to form an arrangement. Second, the arrangement is subjected to creep forming at a temperature which is selected in such a way that the thermoplastic plastics material melts at least in part during the creep forming so as to connect the first assembly component and the second assembly component. The invention further relates to structural assemblies, in particular for an aircraft or spacecraft, and to an aircraft or spacecraft comprising a structural assembly of this type.
MAKING AND USING AN ADHESIVE TAPE FOR WRAPPING AN ELONGATED OBJECT
The object of the invention is a method of making a wrapping for an elongated object (1). An adhesive tape (2, 3) comprised of a substrate strip (2) and an adhesive coating (3) at least partially covering the substrate strip (2) is combined with an adhesive-free band (4) to form a laminate (2, 3, 4). The substrate strip (2) and the band (4) at least largely overlap, and at the overlap (U), the first adhesive coating (3) is between the substrate strip (2) and the band (4). According to the invention the first adhesive coating (3) at the overlap (U) between the substrate strip (2) and the band (4) is composed of a plurality of spaced adhesive substrips (3).
Adhesive and structure, and adhesion method
Provided is an adhesive that can provide quick bonding between thermoplastic resins and excellent bond strength, a structure having adhesion provided by the adhesive, and an adhesion method using the adhesive. The adhesive bonds a first member (11) containing a thermoplastic resin or a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin and a second member (12) containing the thermoplastic resin or the carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin. The adhesive includes a thermoplastic resin as a main component containing a metal nano material that absorbs electromagnetic waves and generates heat.
Method of producing a continuous fibre reinforcement layer from individual fibre mats
A method of producing a single assembled longitudinally extending fibre layer for use in a later resin infusion process for manufacturing a fibre-reinforced composite structure is described including steps: a) providing a first fibre mat comprising unidirectional reinforcement fibres oriented in a longitudinal direction of the first fibre mat, b) providing a second fibre mat comprising unidirectional reinforcement fibres oriented in a longitudinal direction of the second fibre mat, c) arranging the first fibre mat and the second fibre mat so that unidirectional fibres of one end of the first fibre mat adjoin one end of the second fibre mat in a single plane at a common boundary, and d) splicing unidirectional fibres of the first fibre mat at one end of the first fibre mat to unidirectional fibres of the second fibre mat at one end of the second fibre mat in order to form a splicing joint.
